This class was gifted to me by my daughter and her husband for my birthday, and it was such a fun and meaningful way to spend time together while making yummy food. We cooked a delicious Ethiopian vegan feast, including several flavorful dishes and injera bread, which was especially fun and memorable to make. I learned new Ethiopian cooking techniques, how to work with unfamiliar spices, and gained a better understanding of the injera-making process. Chef Angela was warm, friendly, and very skilled. She explained each step clearly, demonstrated techniques well, and regularly checked in to make sure everyone was keeping up. My favorite moment was making the injera and sharing the whole experience with my daughter. The only minor drawbacks were that the 45-minute class felt a bit short for preparing three dishes, even with ingredients prepped, and the listed 30-minute prep time realistically took closer to an hour. The class was also confirmed only 24 hours in advance, which made ingredient shopping a bit rushed. Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the feast! Iâ€™d recommend this class to anyone who enjoys trying new cuisines, loves Ethiopian food, or wants a fun online cooking experience to share with family.

This was our first virtual cooking class. Chef Angela-Michelle was pleasant and walked us through how to make 3 Spanish tapas and our food turned out well. We had all of our ingredients measured and ready ahead of time, which was critical as the class moved very quickly, and possibly unnecessarily quickly as we were all done within 45 minutes. Having some additional tips/pointers or info about the dishes (or explanation of the wine pairings selected) would have made it 5 stars. Overall fun experience though and nice activity to do from the comfort of our home.

This was my second Cozymeal online class, using a gift card I received for Christmas. I enjoyed this class as much as the first. The menu of drinks (healthy mocktails) was so unique, with interesting ingredients, some of which I'd never used before and enjoyed learning more about. Chef Angela-Michelle was fun and informative, and kept our small group engaged in the tea-brewing / drink-making process. All of our four mocktails were delicious. And easy to make - I'll be trying all four drink recipes again on my own.

The food was great and chef was super personable and helpful. The prep instructions didn't line up with the recipes though - during the session she spent time showing us how to slice carrots for the sushi but the recipe called for peppers. In an early communication there was also a recipe for Spring Rolls so I spent time and money prepping for those and we didn't make them.

My co-workers and I took Chef Angela-Michelle's African Vegan Feast cooking class in celebration of Black History Month and had so much fun! We talked flavors, aromas, textures, and more. She's a great instructor with a very warm presence. Prep your vegetables and spices before class is my only tip so you're not scrambling like I was in the beginning of class. I was also taking the class with my 3 year old who was interested in "helping as well" and that added to the fun. She made it easy to engage during the class by giving us helpful hints, background information on the spices and foods we were cooking with, and how they help your body. I loved it. 100% going to take another one of her classes again with co-workers or with family. Thank you Chef for hosting us and we'll definitely do it again!

What a delightful class this was. I had a great experience with Chef Angela -Michelle in our Cuban cuisine cooking class! The chef had a well planned meal consisting of tostones, sofritos and a deliciously seasoned pork steak. At first it seemed like a lot to prep and cook within an hour, but Chef Angela-Michelle pulled it off with ease and good sense of humor. Instructions were easy to follow and the cooking pace was perfect! I definitely could not have cooked the meal(s) to perfection without the chef's guidance.

We loved the meals but were frustrated by a few technical issues. 1) we signed up to use 2 devices but there was a terrible echo. We tried muting both devices but eventually we had to turn one completely off. So we paid double. 2) the instructions sent ahead of time were not the same as the instructions in the class in several instances - the pork marinade, the chorizo filling for papas, and even the papas themselves. Flour in the papas? Cotija in the chorizo? How big a pork tenderloin to use? 3) I strongly believe that the chef should state what temperature the pork should be cooked to - not just â€œhow gorgeous the caramelization looksâ€ - basic food safety. The food was great at the end, but the inconsistencies between instructions was frustrating.

We've been using cooking classes as a fun way to pass the time while stuck at home. I have NEVER been to a class as well organized, fun, and delicious as this one! The chef has everything together to make it easy to follow the recipe, and has several cameras set up so that you don't miss a thing. There's no fumbling around with zoom or who is on mute - she has it down to a science. While things are cooking she facilitates fun conversation with the group in a way that never seems forced. If I could give this class ten stars I would. I'll definitely be looking for more classes with her to keep it up!

I loved the class and loved the food. My only suggestion to future participants who work with batter - do not tip your bowl to show the chef!! I did and poured batter on my relatively new laptop!! Crisis averted with Q-tips and toothpicks - phew!! The Ethipian food was extremely tasty - just different enough to be interesting. I would make the recipes again!

Outstanding job. Chef Angela had a great attitude and was both encouraging and engaging. The pace of the class was good, she built in checkpoints and wanted to see everyone's work at different phases. We learned a lot and saw some new ways to do things. My family really enjoyed it. One small critique... one of the instructions called for a can of tomato paste. You should specify a can size... we used the wrong can size. Not that it's bad - we have plenty of leftover sauce. :-)

I really enjoyed the Intro to Vegan Comfort Cooking class! While we eat a plant-based diet, we are not vegan and I admit to being a bit skeptical about the vegan pesto. It was very good - my husband liked it better than traditional pesto! And there was so much depth of flavor in the ratatouille. Chef Angela's easy and enthusiastic manner made the preparation fun. I think this class would be suitable even for novice cooks.

I enjoyed our experience greatly. I enjoyed learning new recipes and I especially enjoyed eating our cauliflower creations. They were delicious and surprisingly hearty! My only criticism is from the Eventbrite side. Our tickets did NOT provide an address or phone number for the location. The only thing I recieved were latitude and longitude coordinates. Given that the event was in a large apartment complex, those directions were inadequate. I eventually thought to Google "Cozy Meals" and found the general 800 number to call and get Chef Angela's phone number. We finally made it but we ended up late and frustrated to the event! Luckily Chef Angela's energy and friendly personality were enough to calm my nerves after such a rough start.

I was late to the class ( traffic /drive from job to pay for the class) with my husband and two daughters. I did know that this was just an 1 hour class. Angela turned off my zoom mike when my husband and I started discussing how to catch up with with the bread with no input from our chef. We felt rushed to catch up. During a lull, Angela talked about her garden, making zucchini bread and her travel to Spain. Still donâ€™t know what we were supposed to do with the parsley that the recipe called for. Angela ended our 1 hour class 4 minutes early. Sorry just feeling a little disappointed and a bother. I did learn to parboil potatoes and fry and they were very good.

The experience began with Chef Angela directing us all to mute ourselves as any background noise would be distracting(leaving no room for interaction). The environment then turned hostile when one of the participants was struggling with a step and she brushed them off, telling the person "you are going to have to keep up, we are going to be moving quickly". The tipping point for me was when asking each of us to show her our pasta dough, 2 other participants commented about the consistency of their dough. To which she responded that she "doesn't need us to tell her what we think the dough needs, she just needs us to show her the dough in the camera and she will tell us what it needs". I was hoping for a respectful environment, that welcomed interaction and provided tips and tricks that I could use in the kitchen. What I experienced was Chef Angela reading us the recipe verbatim, while we scrambled to keep up. If I had known this would be the exprience, I would have much rather just read a recipe to myself, skipped all of the condescending commentary, and gotten to interact with my teammates. The food was very tasty! However, the experience was very stressful. The chef was unprepared in that she did not have a copy of the Cozymeal instructions in front of her. She seemed surprised by some of the quantities and instructions that we were provided. For example, the liquid quantities for Polenta were double what she actually wanted us to use. It was confusing. When asked about other quantities, she did not know and would have to pause and go to look it up, reminding us that we should have had it premeasured. I organized this class as a fun activity for family members in four locations. One family member had difficulty signing in, causing a 1-2 minute delay. Also, the instructions did not say to have our ovens preheated to 400 degrees before class. Since putting the bread into the oven was the very first step, we felt behind and rushed. Throughout the class we were repeatedly reminded of the slow start and that we were running late. All of us felt uncomfortable, and some of us even felt shamed, with these reminders. I don't think Chef realized that this was a 75 minutes class, that she ended 10 minutes early. The rushing was unnecessary. The food was wonderful and the chef's tone was pleasant, but I am very sorry that I booked this event for my family.

Chef was knowledgeable and entertaining. I'd take another class with her. Food was good, and I'll make it again. But, I was unhappy with receiving shopping list less than 48 hrs before class - hard for folks who have to shop on weekends. Also, recipes were transcribed wrong, with steps out of order or conflicting information (2" deep oil? NO.) And, you could format them to take less paper when printed.

The chef did her best with the time limitation but there was a lot to do in a small amount of time. Food tastes delicious. Also communication from Cozumel about prep work was not great. Cozumel should tell you to check your bookings for direct messages from the chef as we did not receive an email about the prep work which made it difficult to keep up with the class

The zoom log on did not work at first - stressful getting on â€¦ took about 20-30 min . The chef was a little disorganized so it was hard to follow and did not follow directions exactly ( better to be told that in beginning â€¦ did have veggies chopped ahead of time but felt very rushed â€¦ The egg rolls delicious but suggest another dish besides omelet dish -

The instructor was wonderful! Very passionate about her trade It was a bit overwhelming to have four recipes to make in 60 minutes and I felt a bit rushed, but I did enjoy the class and the dishes were delicious!

Angela had a great attitude and was well-trained in her recipe. However, she moved too fast and did not guide the group through individual progress when falling behind. Maybe slow down next time! :)

Did not love it. In theory it was great for a team building event, however it did not meet my expectations. There was some technical difficulties for over half of our group, so we joined in about 10 minutes late. The class had already started and it was almost impossible to catch up. Trying to rush through everything made me miss steps along the way for each part of meal. Since I am already a decent cook I was able to go off recipe and make a really good sauce and garlic bread, however the pasta was a fail. Luckily I had boxed pasta so it ended up being a great meal! Besides that, I felt like it was a huge sales pitch for her tv show the whole time. I heard about this chocolate shop in Barcelona more times than I could count. It was really hard to engage with my team over the rush and constant sales pitch. Maybe good for someone that really wants to learn to make pasta, but not great for groups that just want to have fun learning to cook a meal together .

Chef Anegla-Michelle was wonderful! Most of my participants were not able to log in with the information provided. I resent them a link in a separate communication and they were able to join. I have screen shots of the messages they were receiving.

Chef Angela's African Feast recipes are nothing short of amazing. My husband loves the Ethiopian Chicken in Red Sauce, while I cannot get enough of the Ye'abesha Gomen, Lentils, and Injera. Chef Angela's recipes are thoroughly researched and the food is the result of it because everything is SO YUMMY. We can't wait to get the full cookbook for more deliciousness.

The food was delicious and infused with a lot of flavor. Not a boring bite to be had. This is why I'm giving Chef Angela a 5-star rating. I highly recommend her Vegan Soul Food menu. The vegan greens are amazing ... the best I've ever had!!!
