Shaira J.

Booked the event Asian Fusion Culinary Challenge with Chef Dirk in San Francisco (Mission District)

We did the cozymeal cooking class (Asian fusion) as part of our team building activity. It was very fun and interactive. We learned so much about the different dishes, Chef Dirk and his assistant, Max, were also very friendly and funny! They had fun giveaways as well. The food was delicious. We were a group of 14 and it was just a new and refreshing way to have dinner with your colleagues apart from the traditional business meal dinner. highly recommend. They provide aprons for you but we brough our own company branded aprons.

We made 3 cocktails, and that vermouth should be kept in the frig! Our favorite was the chocolate strawberry martini for entertaining!

FAQS ABOUT TEAM BUILDING ACTIVITIES

  • Team building activities are shared experiences that give coworkers an opportunity to interact outside their normal day-to-day work. Depending on the activity, teams may collaborate on a shared task, compete in smaller groups, learn something new or simply spend time connecting in a more relaxed environment.
  • You can book hands-on cooking classes, cooking competitions, guided food tours, mixology experiences, tastings and live online activities. Available formats vary by location, group size, date and venue.
  • Team building activities work for startups, small businesses, corporate departments, leadership teams, remote teams and large organizations.

They're popular for company off-sites, conferences, employee appreciation, new-hire onboarding, holiday gatherings, sales meetings, leadership gatherings, client entertainment and team celebrations.
  • Team building activities can be arranged for groups of two to 200+. Capacity varies by activity and venue, while larger groups can often be supported with multiple chefs, hosts, stations or guides.
  • Most standard team building activities last around three hours.

Experiences can often be fully customized around your schedule, and select activities can be shortened to approximately one hour for conferences, meetings and other situations where your team has limited time.
  • Yes. Many team building formats can be adapted into shorter sessions.

If you are attending a conference, holding a company meeting or working within a packed off-site schedule, select cooking, food or drink experiences can be modified to fit into an approximately one-hour window.
  • Yes. Team building activities can often be customized around your group size, timing, venue, goals, menu, dietary needs and preferred format.

Customization can include shorter or longer sessions, private formats, conference-room setups, menu changes, competition formats and special arrangements for large groups.
  • Yes. Select activities can be arranged directly in a conference room, meeting room or office space.

Experiences such as sushi making, guacamole and taco challenges, charcuterie workshops, tastings and other formats can often be adapted to spaces without a traditional kitchen.
  • Not necessarily.

Some cooking experiences require kitchen access, but many formats can be arranged without a full kitchen. The right experience can be selected based on your venue, available facilities and group size.
  • Yes. Select chefs and hosts can bring the experience to your office, conference room or other private venue.

Available formats depend on your location, space, group size and activity.
  • Depending on the experience, activities can take place at a chef's studio, professional cooking school kitchen, premium venue, office, conference room, home or another suitable private location.

Live online activities are also available for remote and distributed teams.
  • Small teams often work well with hands-on cooking classes, private food tours, tastings and other experiences where everyone can participate together and conversation happens naturally.
  • Cooking competitions, multi-station cooking classes and other structured activities work well for larger groups because guests can be divided into smaller teams while participating in the same overall experience.

Food tours can also accommodate larger groups by dividing guests into smaller sub-groups with multiple guides.
  • Interactive team activities create opportunities for coworkers to communicate, make decisions, solve problems and work together outside their normal workplace routine.

The experience can be selected based on the type of interaction, collaboration or connection you want to encourage.
  • Depending on the experience, arrangements can include the professional host, ingredients, equipment, venue, setup and group logistics.

Online experiences may also include ingredient or tasting kits with select activities.
  • Yes. Most dietary restrictions can be accommodated depending on the chef, menu and activity.

Include all allergies and dietary requirements during booking so the host can confirm the available options.
  • Yes. Most experiences are designed for different experience and skill levels.

Professional hosts provide guidance throughout the activity, so participants generally do not need previous cooking, mixology or tasting experience.
  • Yes. Remote and hybrid teams can book live online cooking classes, online mixology experiences and virtual wine tastings.

Select experiences include ingredient or tasting kits that can be sent to participants.
  • Hybrid formats may be possible depending on the activity.

Individual experiences display pricing, while customized quotes can be arranged for larger groups and special requirements.

  • Team building activities give coworkers opportunities to interact outside their usual roles, build relationships, practice communication and collaboration and create shared experiences.

The most appropriate activity depends on your team's goals, personality and size.
  • Start with your group size, location, available time and goal.

A small team focused on conversation may prefer a cooking class or food tour. A larger group looking for energy and friendly competition may prefer a cooking challenge. A conference group with only an hour available may prefer a shortened activity that can take place directly in a meeting room.
  • Most eligible experiences booked on Cozymeal allow free cancellation up to 48 hours before the scheduled activity. Customized corporate bookings may have different terms, so review the applicable cancellation policy before confirming.
