Make your Indian restaurant favorites in this hands-on cooking class under the guidance of Chef Shailini. This ancient and sophisticated cuisine, redolent with fragrant aromas and warm, healing spices, is incredibly delicious as well.

Learn how to prepare seven recipes completely from scratch, including chicken tikka masala — a stew of chicken, yogurt and spices, a cauliflower, potato and pea curry, saffron basmati rice with nuts, a cucumber and yogurt raita, and more. End with kheer, a sweet rice pudding with cardamom, raisins, nuts, fruit and coconut shavings.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Shailini was born in Nepal, and with her father being a well-known diplomat, the family lived all over the world. A life long educator, Chef Shailini taught at both Boston University and Northeastern University earlier in her career, and while she enjoyed that a great deal, she is currently living her true passion at several well-known Boston institutions teaching people how to cook food that is both nutritious and delicious. Chef Shailini also does a great deal of volunteer work.

Highly recommended experience!! Chef Shailini made us feel at home. She gave us very detailed recipes and lots of tips to prepare 7 delicious dishes. The class was very dynamic, everyone participated and we even learnt some hindi words and Bollywood moves. Looking forward to try some of her other classes!

I had a wonderful time at Chef Shailini's cooking class. She was very welcoming and told lots of fabulous and humorous stories. We cooked many dishes, but we did not feel tired at all! The class is well-structured so that you do a bit of everything, both cooking, learning, snacking, and chatting. The food was delicious and we got very detailed recipes after as well. I highly recommend!

Outstanding experience—beyond being a very informative class in which I learned many ways to improve my Indian cooking, it was just nice to sit around and talk with everyone so joyfully over a delicious meal. We made a lot of dishes and all the flavors complemented each other wonderfully.
