This was a surprise gift for my girlfriend's birthday. Definitely out of my comfort zone as she's the one who loves cooking, and while I will eat sushi, I a typically avoid seafood. All of that went out the window though. Chef Keith came out to greet us immediately on arrival. He instantly made us feel welcome and at home. We both had the most wonderful time, and everything we ate was divine! I enjoyed every dish we made in spite of my dislike for seafood (my girlfriend was so impressed!). Chef Keith is clearly an expert in his field. He is personable and conversational. By the end of the night, it felt like we had known one another forever. From our experience, he is LGBTQ+ friendly. We highly recommend him and this experience. You will learn technique as well as ingredient selection, meanwhile having fun and eating delicious food. Now go sign up for his class!

Surprised my bf with this class for our anniversary. We know nothing about the process in making sushi but love to eat it. Chef Gilzel taught us so much and made us truly appreciate sushi and the process. It's definitely something we take for granted when we go order. We suck at kitchen and knife skills and chef g was patient and kind enough to teach us. She described the history and culture of sushi, which was awesome. Towards the end,when it came to enjoy the fruits of our labor, it was Freaking Delicious! I highly recommend this class. Chef Gilzel really knows her stuff and was able to answer every question I had that night, and I had a lot of them.

Just an AWESOME experience! My wife got me a private lesson with Chef Gilzel as a birthday present because she knows how much I love experiential learning. When I arrived, Chef Gilzel had everything ready, with two stations set up side by side. Chef asked me what I wanted to get out of the class, and I told her that I was looking to learn how to cut fish for sushi and sashimi and that I was very interested in learning more about presentation skills. The chef's approach worked very well for me. She first explained things, what things were called, why things were done a certain way, then would proceed to demonstrate the skill, after which she would have me perform the skill and coach me until I was doing better. It was a blast learning about the various fish used for making sushi and learning how to look at a block of fish and decide what best way to use it with a minimal amount of waste. I even got to help fillet a whole fish, then the trimmings were used to make the most delicious stock Iâ€™d ever had. Once we were finished crafting all of the various sushi and sashimi dishes Chef proceeded to show me how to decorate and present the food in appealing and creative ways by the use of condiments, colors, position on the plate, etc. And, the best part, sampling the creations once we were all done. This class inspired me to do more sushi dinners at home. So, I would highly recommend taking this class if youâ€™re looking to up your game and learn some new skills and techniques. Well worth the time!!!

So fun and informative! Lots of knowledge packed into a dynamo young Sushi chef. 2 1/2 hours of intense sushi making from knife work, to roll and nigiri, with in-depth, but easy to follow, step by step instructions and lots of hands on. She worked really well with my 12 year old grandson and guided his knife work extremely closely, safety always came first. A great first time cooking class for both of us! Highly recommended Gilzel!

Oh OK all the class was very enjoyable the only thing I would have liked was for the students to have more hands-on of the process of making the rolls And would have liked some written recipes or written down sources of where we could buy the raw materials to make our own sushi this was really a very beginners class and I would have liked more time with hands on making of the sushi rolls.

First off: the experience making food was incredible. I went with my boyfriend for our anniversary and Keith gave us an experience we'll never forget! We both feel like we learned a ton and are confident that we could make our own poke bowls and rolls. We made so much food and all of it was delicious. Honestly we could've paid quite a bit more for the experience, seeing how much we got out of it. It is a steal! What was even better than the food was Chef Keith's personality and conversation. Learning about his background and experiences and how he ended up where he is now really was the highlight of our experience. He's just a really cool dude and can teach you a ton. Made our Vegas trip one to remember for sure. I can only say you'll do yourself a disservice by not booking this lesson!

My fiance booked this class for us as a birthday gift and it truly made my birthday unforgettable! Chef Keith (Ichi) was patient, informative, and is an expert who loves what he does. We were lucky to have him with just the three of us, so we were able to have extra hands-on instruction. Chef Keith made his home very inviting and gave us many opportunities to make more rolls if we messed up. I highly recommend coming to the class hungry. At the end of the night, we were so full that we had to take our extra sushi home in containers. One of the best cooking classes we've ever taken. I can't recommend Chef Keith enough!

Review: Sushi Night Chef Keith is nothing short of amazing!! For sushi night, he uses only the best fish that only sushi chefs can get (for ours at least). You won't get the same fish anywhere else. The fish was top quality; rice was fresh and warm, and most of his sauces (90%) were homemade. The best rolls you'll have. He has a fun, friendly personality. Come in with an empty stomach, because he will feed you well - rolls, nigiri, hand rolls.
