What You’ll Do

Slice, dice and roll your way to a gourmet Japanese meal centered around sushi.

Settle in for a cozy night to practice the art of classic sushi with a fancy twist as taught by Chef Justin in this hands-on cooking class. You'll prepare a fresh, flavorful menu rich with Japanese influences.

Start by marinating seaweed for salad with flavors of ginger, mirin and sesame with an optional bite from red peppers. For the main course, chop poached lobster and slice juicy, seared steak and roll together for a truly over-the-top sushi roll. You will also layer and roll spicy shrimp rolls - book the class today!

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Justin was wonderful! He is very nice, clean, and so prepared! We had a wonderful experience learning new cooking techniques. We made a cucumber-seaweed salad and several different sushi rolls, sashimi, and nigiri. He also brought matcha ice cream for us to enjoy later. We loved this experience and definitely recommend!

Chef Justin was absolutely amazing. I booked this experience as a birthday gift for my husband, and it exceeded my hopes and expectations by far! The sushi was delicious, Justinâ€™s teaching and demonstrating was smooth and easy to understand, and Chef Justin himself was a wonderful mix of professional, sociable, and friendly. He was very kind and understanding with our baby fussing throughout parts of the class as well. We highly recommend this class!!

I seriously cannot recommend Chef Justin enough. He is a true professional, but made the experience so fun and comforting at the same time. The dishes he made/taught us to make were by far the best and most fresh sushi Iâ€™ve ever tasted! We had an amazing meal and experience with Chef Justin. Chef Justin was very communicative prior to the experience. Chef Justin arrive 15 minutes prior to start time in order to get set up. We helped prepare and ate seafood salad, a few rolls (proteins: salmon, shrimp, crab, beef) and mochi ice cream (green tea, strawberry and vanilla). We learned so much and the meal was beyond delicious. Overall it was the best time and the food was so great we would recommend this to anyone. Thanks Chef Justin!

One of the most fun things Iâ€™ve ever done! My BF and I have been ravin about it for days. Justin was super helpful, hilarious, and made the whole experience even better. The food was delicious, and he went above and beyondâ€”chatting with us about anything, taking tons of pictures (so sweet!), and letting us get creative with handrolls + other rolls after making the main menu items. We were in a bit of a rush at the end, and somehow, he cleaned everything up in like 10 minutes. Highly recommend. We were also STUFFED and had leftovers.

Chef Justin is warm and welcoming. We learned about the history of sushi but we also acquired the skills to make it ourselves. The class was exceptionally well-organized, with all the necessary ingredients and tools laid out neatly. Chef Justin's attention to detail was impressive, and he took the time to explain the importance of selecting the freshest fish and perfecting knife skills. His explanations were clear and easy to follow. This attention to aesthetics elevated the entire sushi-making experience to a true work of art. It was a truly memorable meal, and he was able to make substitutions and the birthday super special.

Justin was just the BEST! He accommodated our change in time very easily, came with everything we couldâ€™ve wanted or needed, and struck the perfect balance between teaching and exhibiting his expertise. He answered all our questions, allowing us to feel prepared to identify authentic, quality sushi at any restaurant we may go to now. Service included more sushi than we could finish! Chef Justin was amazing!!! I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend for our anniversary because we both love sushi and cooking. He came very prepared and organized. He was an amazing teacher, and he catered to all of our requests! He started with a tuna, crab, salmon, avacado cucumber roll with edamame. Then we made a spicy shrimp roll. After he prepared an amazing lobster, cucumber, avacado roll with freshly seared steak on top. It was AMAZING! He even added in extra steak nigiri for us. He ended with vanilla, matcha, and strawberry mochi. Overall 11/10 experience and I would recommend to anyone!!

Fantastic! We did an in-home class for sushi rolls and nigiri for four people. Chef Justin focused on exactly what we asked for (our favorite rolls) and taught us things we didnâ€™t even know we needed to know. He was funny, smart, talented, and a good teacher. He taught us how to make several different kinds of rolls, how to make nigiri, and then made some special rolls to leave with us. They were delicious! Absolutely worth the cost. We had a great experience with Chef Justin! I would recommend Chef Justin time and time again to friends and family. I surprised my girlfriend with a sushi making night and we had a fantastic experience. Chef Justin was on time and prepared with all ingredients and supplies. He worked with us to accommodate my girlfriend who had gluten and dairy allergies and have similar rolls and sauces she could consume. He set up and prepared in our kitchen space well. He was friendly, joking, but also very serious and focused on his craft. It was so fun to see his technique and skills and he was a great teacher, letting hs try our hand at cutting and rolling. We ate a multiple course meal and both of us LOVED it. The sushi was so fresh and so good. I couldnâ€™t recommend this more to others. Thank you to Chef Justin for such a fun experience!

BOOK Chef Justin without hesitation! I initially reached out to Chef Mademaster and was disappointed. I booked, he cancelled a week after, I asked for an explanation in the messages and he NEVER responded. Very rude. I then found Chef Justin and it was a WONDERFUL experience.
