We really enjoyed our experience with Chef Aleck. I found and booked this cooking class with Aleck because he specializes in plant based cooking, and we were going to be visiting New Orleans with my family. My dad transitioned into a predominantly vegan diet in the last 2 years and while I wanted to learn some new vegan dishes I also wanted to enjoy the local creole flavors and requested changing up our menu a bit. I really appreciated how accommodating Aleck was to my request. Iâ€™ve done a cooking class at a culinary institute so I thought this would be a fun birthday experience as we scheduled it on my birthday. The personalized and tailored lesson was really fun and Chef Aleck helped inspire us with some new and creative dishes we are excited to make in our own kitchens! The 3 of us that did the lesson all cook frequently in our own kitchens, but I think we all still learned a few new things which was my hope! My dad who usually prefers to learn on his own and was skeptical of the experience also really enjoyed the whole thing, which I think is a testament to Aleckâ€™s proper planning and flexibility to the clients. I really appreciated how budget conscious Aleck was and he talked through all the changes with me and how he could try to work within our budget. This was a really fun experience that I would totally do again, and recommend to others! One of my favorite parts was that Chef Aleck basically cleaned everything for us which really made the experience feel more fun & informative and less like work!! While we enjoyed the fruits of our labor from the first 2 dishes, Chef Aleck was cleaning up the kitchen before our next course and had the entire kitchen clean and all the leftover ingredients organized and put away. It was so nice! It was like hiring a private chef but you also got to learn and be hands on with him, too.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. Chef Myisha's home is warm and welcoming. She is an excellent instructor plus an amazing chef. Her marinara sauce with extra garlic blew my mind. We learned how to create linguini noodles from scratch then ate the freshly made noodles with her wonderful, healthy (contained collard greens) pasta sauce. She also made a Panzanella salad and a smoked cream cheese tiramisu. WOW. We highly recommend this class or any other class she teaches. She is patient, kind and makes you feel like a real chef. She also does pop up around the city of which we can't wait to catch one to eat her marvelous food again. Gratuity may be left with her in her home.

We had a wonderful time at our cooking class with Chef Aleck! He was warm and welcoming and made the lesson lots of fun. We did the vegan menu and requested gluten-free which he was happy to accommodate. Our time was spent learning about flavor profiles, and the menu included lots of items we will be able to build off of in the future. Loved focusing on techniques and so grateful he did all the chopping for us beforehand. We left with a bag full of leftovers, lots of knowledge to add to our cooking arsenal, and big smiles on our faces!

My favorites were the crawfish and corn bisque and of course the bananas foster dessert.
