My wife and I recently attended the Simplicity of Sushi course with Chef Rodney, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The class was held at Chef Rodneyâ€™s home, which was spotless and located in a safe, welcoming neighborhood. Chef Rodney was an exceptional hostâ€”warm, professional, and clearly passionate about his craft. His teaching style reflected his deep experience and culinary expertise. He was incredibly patient, not only with us but with all the guests, making sure everyone felt comfortable and confident throughout the class. We learned so much and truly enjoyed the hands-on approach. I highly recommend Chef Rodney, whether youâ€™re interested in sushi or any other cooking class he offers. It was an unforgettable afternoon!

I can't say enough about this experience! My husband and I had an amazing time and what we made was delicious. Chef Rodney was funny, engaging, and interesting and his home was lovely and immaculate. We would definitely do another class with him and highly recommend this class to anyone who loves sushi.

From the start, Chef Rodney made everything fun, interactive, and engaging. It wasnâ€™t just about following a recipeâ€”he really took the time to break things down and explain why certain techniques work, which made a huge difference. What really stood out was how hands-on the class was. It wasnâ€™t just watching someone cookâ€”we were in the mix, learning as we went. Chef Rodneyâ€™s energy was next level, and you could tell how passionate he is about what he does. That passion made the entire experience even better. We walked in excited and left feeling more confident in the kitchen (and full, which is always a win). Whether youâ€™re looking for a unique date night, a fun activity, or just a way to level up your cooking skills, this class is 100% worth it. Whether youâ€™re a total beginner or someone who already knows their way around the kitchen, youâ€™ll walk away with new skills, more confidence, and a great experience. Canâ€™t recommend it!!!

We cooked sushi and gyoza at Chef Rodneyâ€™s home. The food turned out good and we appreciated Chef Rodneyâ€™s humor and great story-telling. Unfortunately we the time wasnâ€™t managed well and we got rushed, which took away from the experience. Overall, Great experience for food lovers and couples looking for a date idea.

We had a wonderful experience with Chef Rodney! He had the right mix of Teaching Talent, Personality, Customer Experience/Service! We felt at ease, part of the process, the conversation was pleasant including a few jokes, and the FOOD was amazing! We made, Salmon, Shrimp and Tuna; Veggies, Avocado and Sauces were Eel, Siracha, Soy, and Wasabi. He also told us how we could make changes, i.e. reduced carb version without the right. Surprised!!! Our daughter contacted the Chef, he pickup up a nice bottle of Chardonnay for our meal! He took photos and video for us as well!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Simply Sushi Cooking Class with Chef Rodney!!!

This was my second ever cooking class, the first was at another school where the objective was to make Thai food. We were divided into groups to do different parts of the meal, and I walked away with only a superficial knowledge of how to make chicken coconut soup. Cozymeal and Chef Rodney's class, on the other hand was so much better in that we were involved in every aspect (even to loading the dishwasher afterwards). I came away from this with actual knowledge, I feel confident I could recreate the meal in my own kitchen. Chef Rodney has a great personality, he could easily have his own TV show, cooking or otherwise. All in all, it was a fun, entertaining experience, and I gained some practical knowledge that I look forward to using soon!

Wow, such a amazing meal and experience! Rodney's creation was exceptional, and his fun and kind personality was the icing on top. The chicken was perfectly seared and juicy, the sauce so full of flavor, and the asparagus perfectly crispy (something we've never accomplished lol)! Rodney is warm, kind and professional and it's clear why he's had the opportunity to lead culinary experiences and teams all over the country and world. We couldn't have asked for a better night! We highly recommend Rodney and hope to try his other creations in the future! Thank you again, Rodney!

Outstanding experience! Who knew we would get a first class sushi experience, along with a comedy routine AND some great life coaching? Chef Rodney was effortless in guiding our class, while being witty and engaging the entire time. Everything he had us prepare was delicious. I cannot recommend this experience enough. Chef Rodney was unbelievably phenomenal. He was entertaining, polite, patient, and professional. We booked a class for our 9 year old sushi loving son as a Christmas present, and Chef Rodney was able to to keep a high expectation for the class while truly meeting the theme of this classâ€” simple. He worked to make sure our son understood each step, while also providing ingredients and skills for a delicious meal. He is worth every single penny and so much more. I canâ€™t imagine a better experience.

It was so much fun. It's like having a good friend invite you over for dinner, but teach you how to cook in the process. It's really neat that he can turn his home into a teaching environment, but make it seem like a dinner party at the same time.

I, honestly, do not recommend this cooking class. The chef offers the class in his house. The kitchen and eating area is too small to accommodate a class of 8. He jorkes and talks about himself a lot. He talked more about himself rather than making it a personal experience for the guests. He doesn't tell you the recipe as you are cooking; rushing ingredients into the mix before you can see what he is adding. When asked what he added; his response was, "Don't worry. I'll send the recipes." No one received the recipes. Then, he, suddenly, told the guests they had to leave because he had something to do. The guest had not recieved or finished the food that they paid for.

Average Experience with Chef Rodney's Cooking Class My experience with Chef Rodney's cooking class was just okay. One aspect that wasn't clear beforehand was that the session took place at his home, which raised safety concerns for me. Additionally, the lack of pre-prepared ingredients meant we spent more time prepping than cooking, making the class run longer than expected. We were hurried out at the end because of another class scheduled, leaving a rushed feeling. Perhaps with a more prepared kitchen environment, equipped with industrial appliances, the class could run smoother. Overall, it's an average experience that others might enjoy, but I wouldn't do it again personally. Just be aware it's hosted at the chef's home.

Chef Rodney was great but for 400 bucks I was expecting a large kitchen and Paired wine options. This is just based on previous experiences. I understand it is in the chefâ€™s home but upon arriving I found it difficult to find the apartment. The cooking environment was distracting with outside noises.
