Amazing experience overall. Made ceviche, empanadas, arepas, and quinoa salad, and everything turned out great. The chef made the class fun, relaxed, and easy to follow, even for beginners. Favorite part was trying all the different South American flavors at the end. Definitely doing another class again soon.

From the moment my wife and I stepped into his kitchen, Chef Gustavo's warm and personable nature put us at ease. His passion for cooking was immediately evident as he introduced us to the evening's menu, which featured a delightful array of dishes. We began with sautÃ©ed shrimp infused with garlic, parsley, and dried chiles de Ã¡rbol atop green plantain cakes. Chef Gustavo guided us through the process of preparing and cooking the plantains, demonstrating techniques that were both practical and impressive. Chef Gustavo's professional demonstration made a seemingly daunting task accessible and fun, especially with wrapping fillets in banana leaves. The sweet crÃªpes for dessert were the perfect conclusion to the meal. Always a fun night with Chef Gustavo. Good conversation- he makes everyone feel like part of a family while we cook and eat together. This was our second meal with him. We would definitely book a third. We did three types of meat - they were so good. I was a skeptic when he only seasoned with salt, but wow just cooking over the flame added such flavor, salt was all you needed.

I chose to take a class with chef Gustavo along with my partner for our anniversary. We both had a wonderful time. Chef's place was very cozy and immediately felt like home, which helped ease the unfamiliar feeling of going somewhere new. We were joined by two other people that came together and they were both wonderful people to meet during the evening. The food was fantastic, but the special part of the evening was the way chef Gustavo made the evening feel like a gathering of loved ones rather than a room full of strangers. We started off with some introductions and some safety tips before getting into the cooking. Once we began cooking the meal went along at a comfortable pace with chef Gustavo telling stories of his culinary journey to us as we enjoyed the food we all helped to prepare. I consider myself an intermediate home chef, and I learned a few things over the course of the evening, my partner is a little less experienced in the kitchen and she learned some things as well. What was impressive is that no matter your experience level, the environment was set so that everyone felt comfortable cooking and asking questions about what they were doing. I would say that the experience was like lightning in a bottle, but I have a feeling that chef Gustavo is good at making any group that goes into his kitchen feel happy to be there and excited to learn. Bottom line: I would absolutely book another experience with chef Gustavo, by all accounts everyone had a great time and the food was delicious. P.s. it may be a good idea to bring some Tupperware since there is a lot of food to eat (don't want to get too full after the first 2 courses)

I canâ€™t say enough good things about this experience. I purchased a three-hour cooking class with Chef Gustavo as a surprise gift, and my girlfriend and I had a wonderful time. Between Chef Gustavoâ€™s engaging personality and artful, patient instruction, itâ€™s hard to identify the best part of the experience, but we couldnâ€™t have walked away more satisfied with the food or the instructor. The entire experience felt like cooking with a friend. At first, I was just interested in learning how to make ceviche dishes, but after tasting everything he taught us to make, I can honestly say I would make each of these dishes again. Everything tasted spectacular, and he made the learning fun and relaxing. The stories Chef Gustavo shared during the class were also incredibly informative and memorable. I never felt rushed at all. Chef Gustavo demonstrated his techniques and how to make the dish, then set us off on our own to try the recipes while always attentively being close by if we ever needed help. He made us feel like we were family. As for getting my moneyâ€™s worth? Yes, yes, and Yes! The value was outstanding. The level of confidence that this class gave me to make these dishes again was priceless. You can teach technique, but itâ€™s hard to teach confidence. Chef Gustavo somehow did it, though. So thank you, Chef Gustavo, for the confidence you gave us and this fun and memorable learning experience. To anyone whoâ€™s thinking of taking this class in the future, I highly recommend it. You will not regret it. I already plan to sign us up for another class later this year, and I would have no hesitation to recommend any class Chef Gustavo is facilitating.

Chef Gustavo's depth of experience was evident and the atmosphere he created felt warm and personal. Crucially, in these strange Covid times, it also felt very safe: he had put great thought into how we could proceed safely and had a regimen to keep things thoroughly sanitized.
