Create traditional dishes and learn incredible cultural stories with Chef Gustavo.

In this hands-on cooking class, you'll learn all about the intricate food from four South American nations. Chef Gustavo will teach you time-honored cooking techniques along the way, as you handcraft classic recipes.

Begin by preparing fresh Peruvian ceviche followed by a lemony quinoa salad filled with the flavors of Bolivia. Then, you'll taste the savory flavors of Argentina with beef empanadas and finish up with classic Venezuelan arepas filled with chicken, arugula and avocado. As you cook, Chef Gustavo will teach you about the fascinating history and culture behind each bite.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Latin American cuisine is what Chef Gustavo is all about. As the owner and executive chef of Rumba Café in Adams Morgan for 20 years, he understands this cuisine more than anything else. He draws his inspiration from his own travels through Latin America, the Caribbean, France, Spain and more. He studied at L’ Academie de Cuisine and is knowledgeable in French cuisine as well. He is available to teach classes in both English and Spanish.

this was the first time my family and I had ever taken a cooking class and he surpassed all expectations! I love Gustavo's background knowledge on the subject and that you can really tell he loves his craft and everything that comes with it. Absolutely loved class! My mom, two sisters, and I went and had the best time. Chef Gustavo is so knowledgeable and fun and the food was incredible! We learned so much and cannot wait to try the dishes at home.
