Booked the class Sushi Making Essentials with Chef Melissa in Framingham

Melissa was a great hostess. She was very attentive to my texts and Q's before the class. She contacted us a week before to let us know there was an opening, as we had booked another class several months out. Then she communicated her vaccination status and policies about vaccination which we were really confused about since it's 2026. My husband developed a cold and we were considering canceling 2 days before, but the cozy meals refund policy was 48 hours so we attended the class. There was one other couple. We learned how to make sushi rolls using sushi rice, fish, avocado, cucumber, caviar, and spices. Melissa prepared a gluten-free dairy-free dessert for us, and we played a spice game and had a gratitude session. It was an enjoyable couple's evening experience.

I gave this cooking class to my adult daughter and husband as their Christmas present this past year. They attended the class with Chef Melissa and they said that it was such a wonderful experience! Chef Melissa was so gracious and knowledgeable! She welcomed them warmly and got to know their experience level and also, what they wanted to learn from the class. After getting to know them a bit she started the lesson. The instruction was easy to follow and she made it fun. She had extremely fresh ingredients and taught them what types of herbs and seasonings would work in cooking their meal. She worked step by step explaining every detail. She had them participate in little contests like who could identify certain spices and she gave out fun little prizes. The meal was absolutely delicious and now they feel comfortable cooking recipes that were not usually in their comfort zone. I would highly recommend this cooking class to any level cook. It was absolutely worth every penny and we are already planning our next class. Thank you Chef Melissa!!!!

Chef Melissa provided us a thoughtful, generous, and delicious event. We were welcomed into a lovely setting featuring beautiful ikebana floral arrangements created by her. Chef Melissa shared some of her expertise through guided instruction and interesting explanations, with plenty of laughter along the way. Also a sommelier, she told us about sake as we enjoyed sipping what we had brought. The food was amazing - lovely presentation, delicious. One of the treats of the evening was picking fresh herbs, greens and flowers from Chef Melissa's hydroponic stand and incorporating them into the designs and flavors of the dishes we created together. We had a wonderful time together guided by her expert-fully presented activities. Ultimately, we experienced Japanese comfort food in its glorious, vegetarian wholesomeness ? Our tastebuds are still dancing and will be jazzed up for time to come. Our imagination is fueled with enthusiasm to try our own interpretations of what chef Melissa taught us.

Chef Haroldâ€™s class was amazing. I booked the class as a birthday present for my girlfriend, who has Celiac and can rarely have teriyaki sauce and had never had tempura before. Chef Harold makes everything at home so itâ€™s all gluten free, and heâ€™s very knowledgeable about food safety in general. The sushi we made was the best sushi weâ€™ve ever had. Chef Harold is a great teacher and has a very fun personality, which made the class even better. We especially appreciated hearing about his long experience making sushi and his explanation of the different types of sushi. Iâ€™d recommend this experience to anyone, and canâ€™t wait to try making it on my own.

I booked Chef Harold specifically because of how many positive reviews he has. The sushi was the best Iâ€™ve ever had but that wasnâ€™t my favorite part to be honest. His personality is why I want to express how happy I am that I booked with Chef Harold. When I requested the class I wrote in the comments that I had gastric bypass surgery 7 months ago (so I can only have brown rice and nothing fried) and that I love sushi because the protein it provides really gives my body what it needs. When he arrived he told me he made a couple exceptions for me because of my comment (1. He has never gone to NH, thatâ€™s where I live. 2. He has a two person minimum, I booked for just myself). He truly wants to help/educate people that want to learn about healthier ways to eat and prepare food. He even left me a sushi roll mat as a Christmas gift! His kindness inspired me to tell my story of surgery to others because some of those people just may help you. He helped me tremendously!!

We had a blast taking Chef Harold's Modern Sushi class. He came with all the ingredients, tools, etc. we needed for the class, and we made so many courses in a small Somerville condo with ease. It was so fun and educational, and there is no shortage of delicious food to eat. I can't wait to practice these skills and continue making sushi. I'm recommending this class to all of my friends - it's the perfect date night, a unique way to celebrate, or just something new and exciting to do with friends.
