Chef Mukti

It was a wonderful experience working with Chef Mukti. We learned a lot about Indian spices and how to work with them. It was an incredibly valuable and worthwhile experience.

I have attended a few cooking classes and I must say the this is the best culinary experience thus far; Mukti not only teaches you how to cook Indian foods, but also teaches you what and how to use the tools of the kitchen; she explains the proper cooking tools and methods to use in order to obtain the desired results. Her method of instructing is one where you are made to feel relax and comfortable. I will return to take another class from Mukti. Thank you, Muki!

Chef Mukti was absolutely fabulous. A charming person and an exceptional cook. Her instructions and demonstrations were clear and very interesting. I learned a lot about the techniques of cooking Indian food. Lots of information and great cooking tips. We all got to both cook and watch (and, of course, eat the exceptionally delicious food we had prepared). We learned how to make about seven different dishes, including 3 vegetable dishes, chicken, bread, mango lassi...as well as masala, which is the basis for almost all of the dishes. Chef Mukti told us where to buy and how to choose the best ingredients, and provided recipes for everything. It was exactly the learning experience I had hoped for...and above all, it was really fun! Kudos and thanks to Chef Mukti!!!

Mukti's cooking class was a wonderful experience and worth every penny! I was looking for a fun and memorable way to surprise my friend (who LOVES Indian food, and food in general) for her birthday and she and her husband and I had an amazing afternoon, learning far more than we anticipated. The skills Mukti teaches are not only relevant to the recipes she is teaching but will influence how you cook everything for the rest of your life. I was so impressed, she was so kind and welcoming and patient, and we had a bonding experience that we will keep in our hearts forever. I can also honestly say, Mukti has ruined any chance that I will ever crave store-bought frozen Indian again. The meal we made and shared at the end of class was one of the best I've ever eaten - the spices!  I can't wait to share my new cooking skills with my friends and family. Thank you, Mukti!

Absolutely a great and wonderful experience! We did the vegan Indian cooking class and learned so much about cooking, including the basics. The food was amazing - and we were the ones who made it! I highly recommend this for anyone looking to learn more about Indian cooking.

Mukti was an incredible host who welcomed my boyfriend, myself, and another couple into her home for an amazing three hour experience. She greeted us, told us about her history and how she became a cooking instructor, and then brought us into the kitchen to begin the experience. We booked the vegan and gluten free class, and learned how to make pakora, coriander chutney, Aloo gobi matar rasha, chana masala, vegetable pulao, and eggplant masala. Mukti was patient, met us at our level, gave us clear and direct instructions, and recipes to take home with us! We could not have asked for a better evening.

My girlfriend and I attended cooking class with Chef Mukti and we had a great experience. We cook quite a bit of food, but we learned a lot about the fundamentals of cooking Indian cuisine from her. She taught us about the essential spices, how to prepare them for cooking and how to integrate in to each recipe we made during the class. I would strongly recommend taking this class and any of the classes she offers.

Chef Mukti and this class are excellent. Her knowledge, warmth and enthusiasm are clear from start to finish. She created a great atmosphere in the group. Every dish was clearly explained, with lots of chances to smell, taste, and try the steps. There are tips that will change the way I cook starting today. The food was delicious - with fresh spices and layers of flavor. And the variety of dishes we made from start to finish was amazing - saag paneer, pilaf, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, onion pakora with chutney. Highly recommended.

Highly recommend! I scheduled a gluten free and vegan Indian cooking class with Chef Mukti for my girlfriend's birthday. My girlfriend is gluten free and dairy free. Chef Mukti had to reschedule our class for a different day with a different menu that wasn't necessarily gluten or dairy free. Chef Mukti made sure to have options for my girlfriend so that she didn't miss out on anything. The food was unbelievably delicious. Mukti was extremely informative during the entire cooking process. We were with a family of seven that we didn't know. Mukti made the atmosphere comfortable and we had a blast. She also made sure everyone was involved constantly. It was so much fun and the food was so good. We don't live in NYC but if we did I'm sure we'd do another cooking class with the chef. I never leave reviews for anything online but I felt like I needed to for this. Great experience, and after the dinner Mukti sends you an incredibly detailed recipe of everything so you can cook it again.

Mukti's kitchen was the perfect setting for learning how to cook Indian dishes. She considers every little detail, starting with how to source and prepare your spices all the way to scraping the flavor off the pan to include in your dish. Highly recommend!

Chef Mukti ran a wonderful and engaging class which was really effective in giving familiarity with ingredients and fundamental techniques. You will definitely learn by doing and it is hard to imagine a better cooking class experience.

What a great night! My husband gifted me this cooking class for my birthday and what a treat! I didn’t know what to expect going into this class, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised. The class was personal, comfortable, and fun. I loved the homemade approach and the fact that we were hands on. I learned so many new cooking tips and techniques. The food was amazing. And our teacher was excellent. I will be back for more classes. This is a great gift for someone or something fun to do if you want a change of pace.

Our class with Chef Mukti was an amazing experience. My girlfriend and I attended the class to celebrate our two year anniversary and it was a perfect way to celebrate. The food was way better than going to a fancy restaurant and we were able to add more recipes to our weekly routine. In fact we made two of the dishes the next day!

Chef Mukti creates delicious and visually stunning dishes! With her cooking, Chef Mukti strives to introduce you to excellent Indian cuisine. She is very passionate about teaching -- I especially enjoyed learning her special samosa-creating technique.

Lovely lady, amazing food, She had great cooking directions and lots of little tips. The food tasted so different than Indian food in restaurants, so we’re excited to cook more on our own. She’s very sweet.

Mukti’s cooking class was a fun way for me and my friends to get together and share a new experience. The food was delicious, Mukti was super welcoming, and afterward we were able to walk to a cute nearby bar for after dinner drinks. Highly recommend for people who are interested in authentic, off-the-beaten-path experiences.

Mukti is a wonderful culinary instructor who brings her kitchen to life during her class. We enjoyed learning about various spices and how to effectively incorporate into dishes. The class was interactive, engaging and rewarding. Will certainly take more classes with Mukti in the future.
