Chef Mukti grew up in India, learning the art of cooking from her mother, aunts, and grandmothers. Chef Mukti moved to the U.S. in 1986 to work as a biologist and retired in 2006 to pursue her dream to bring the flavors and benefits of Indian cooking to all New Yorkers. Mukti's cooking class was a wonderful experience and worth every penny! I was looking for a fun and memorable way to surprise my friend (who LOVES Indian food, and food in general) for her birthday and she and her husband and I had an amazing afternoon, learning far more than we anticipated. The skills Mukti teaches are not only relevantВ to the recipes she is teaching but will influence how you cook everything for the rest of your life. I was so impressed, she was so kind and welcoming and patient, and we had a bonding experience that we will keep in our hearts forever. I can also honestly say, Mukti has ruined any chance that I will ever crave store-bought frozen Indian again. The meal we made and shared at the end of class was one of the best I've ever eaten - the spices!В I can't wait to share my new cooking skills with my friends and family. Thank you, Mukti!

Chef Mukti's class was wonderful! Mukti is so knowledgeable about all elements of cooking, and we really felt like we left her home with everything we need to vastly improve our home cooking! We are so looking forward to recreating her delicious recipes! Thank you Mukti!

Chef Mukti and this class are excellent. Her knowledge, warmth and enthusiasm are clear from start to finish. She created a great atmosphere in the group. Every dish was clearly explained, with lots of chances to smell, taste, and try the steps. There are tips that will change the way I cook starting today. The food was delicious - with fresh spices and layers of flavor. And the variety of dishes we made from start to finish was amazing - saag paneer, pilaf, aloo gobi, chicken tikka masala, onion pakora with chutney. Highly recommended.
