In the bowl of a food processor, place the toasted walnuts (or pine nuts), basil leaves, garlic cloves, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, salt and pepper. Process until finely chopped.
With the machine running, slowly add the olive oil. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
Use immediately or store in an airtight container. If stored in an airtight container, top the pesto with a layer of extra-virgin olive oil before placing on the lid. Enjoy!
