Cooking Class - Crafting Italian Pizza in Chicago

One star is generous. I booked this class to celebrate my birthday, but we were instructed to take raw pizza out of the oven and eat it. We ultimately left hungry, and all four people in our party became sick afterward. When we first told the chef that our pizza could not possibly be cooked, she denied there was a problem and insisted that we take it out of the oven and start eating. We trusted her at first, but after eating some, we quickly realized that the dough and bottom were still raw. We protested again, but the chef continued to insist that it was cooked. We eventually put it back in the oven ourselves. The oven was clearly not cooking evenly. After far too much additional time, the top began to burn while the bottom remained raw and inedible. Eventually, we gave up. The only way we could salvage anything was to scrape off the toppings and eat them by themselves. The attached photo shows exactly what we were left with, and we still went home hungry. Then the same thing happened with the dessert pizza. Once again, the chef told us to take it out even though it clearly was not finished. You can see the uncooked dessert pizza in the upper left corner of the photo. All four people in our party were sick to their stomachs afterward. We are confident that the raw pizza caused it because this was the only food all four of us ate in common. Being instructed by the chef to remove and eat raw pizza was not just disappointing. It was irresponsible and had real consequences for everyone in our group. This was not a minor cooking mistake. We raised the problem directly, and the chef repeatedly dismissed us and falsely assured us that the pizza was cooked. Whether she could not recognize raw dough or simply refused to acknowledge the problem, neither is acceptable for someone running a paid cooking class. This completely ruined what was supposed to be my birthday celebration. I would not recommend this class to anyone. Cozymeal should provide a full refund and meaningful additional compensation toward a properly run replacement experience. Anything less would not reflect how unacceptable this experience was.

It was terrible. Chef could not explain any step other than instructions. The base of pizza never got cooked. She said she forgot to calibrate the oven. It was total waste of time & money

We had our annual staff retreat at Cozymeal and used the mystery bag competition as a team building activity. Chef Andy was wonderful and everyone had a great time.

We had a corporate team building event for 30+ people. The whole experience was top notch, from booking to flexibility on group size, to the venue and the team. Chef Andy and team really made our experience amazing! Thank you sincerely, folks are still talking about it weeks later!

Five stars is not enough. Chef Andy and Chef Coco gave us a wonderful experience from start to finish. They came to our home and taught us how to prepare an absolutely amazing Mexican meal, and everything about the evening exceeded our expectations. They were warm, friendly, very instructive and fund. They made the cooking process feel approachable, fun, and memorable. What really stood out was how they combined great teaching with genuine friendless and a desire to teach. We learned a lot, ate an incredible meal, and truly enjoyed having them in our home. Remarkably, they even left our kitchen cleaner than it was when they arrived. I would highly recommend Chef Andy and Chef Coco to anyone looking for a special, delicious, and well-run private cooking experience.

We had a wonderful experience hiring Chef Andy and his sous chef Coco for a private dinner in our home. The meal was absolutely fantastic- beautifully presented and delicious from start to finish. Andy and Coco were professional, organized, and made the entire evening feel effortless and fun. They handled everything seamlessly and even left the kitchen spotless. It truly felt like having a fine dining restaurant experience in our own home. Highly recommend Chef Andy and Coco if you're looking for a memorable private chef experience!

Chef Andy and this class were amazing. We learned really useful knife skills and received great instruction on how to roll sushi. To add, the end-product was amazing, and we will certainly be trying this out ourselves. He is a great person and made the class a blast.

Date night with my boyfriend and Chef Cocoa was a lovely experience. I gifted him this Cozymeal sushi class, and we had so much fun prepping and rolling sushi. It turned into a very filling dinner — we even had to take some to go. The class was well organized and easy to follow, with a great group of people. The ambiance at Chef Andy’s place was great, plus easy parking. Overall, a great experience. Highly recommend :)

We had a wonderful evening making bruschetta, risotto, chicken marsala, and tiramisu. We learned some tips for getting the right texture for the risotto, got a refresher on correctly searing chicken, and made tiramisu for the first time.

We had wonderful Bruscetta with Chicken Masala and Risotto, followed by Tiramisu. Chef Coco was our chef and she was absolutely TREMENDOUS. Cannot recommend this enough!

Amazing class! My team was absolutely thrilled with the cooking experience. They loved being together in a different format outside of work and enjoyed eating what they created together! Chef Andy and team were pleasant, helpful, and good vibes all around!

Chef Andy and his team were so amazing! We did the mystery basket cooking competition They made our corporate event for team-building super fun, engaging and exciting! It was such a fun event because of Cozy Meal’s amazing chefs! “Yes chef!” They were so good at organizing us and taking photos for us! And on top of all of that, the food tasted incredible! I organized this for my commercial team at Blommer Chocolate and everyone raved about it and loved the event so much! Use Chef Andy!! He will make, you, as an organizer of an event look so good!

Chef Andy was great. He was highly organized, knowledgable, and the event was very smooth. I would highly recommend him and the Mystery Basket Cooking Challenge for any team building experience.
