Dive into the unique world of Indo-Caribbean cuisine in this engaging cooking class. Chef Karmala will teach you recipes and culinary techniques to create comfort food from family recipes.

To begin, savor caramelized plantains atop whole-grain toast with greens, avocado, and feta. Then, learn to craft your own West Indian masala blend as Chef Karmala demonstrates its use in a classic West Indian curry chicken. Prepare aromatic coconut rice and peas with fresh thyme and scotch bonnet peppers to enjoy with your main course. Finally, discover the traditional treat of "Gulgula," donuts with blistered raisins, made with jaggery, warm spices, and vanilla.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I decided to surprise my boyfriend with a cooking class for our anniversary, and let me tell you вЂ“ it was absolutely amazing! We're total newbies in the cooking class scene, and honestly, we had no clue what we were getting into. But wow, were we blown away and we can't stop talking about the class! Mala, the magician behind the scenes, set up and prepped everything like an absolute pro. She was very friendly and could probably get a side gig as a stand up comedian. We left with smiles, full bellies, and a newfound love for the culinary arts. Count us in for more classes вЂ“ we're officially hooked! Thanks a million for such an unforgettable experience!

Karmala was fantastic! My boyfriend and I had the best time cooking mediterranean food. She was very welcoming, warm, knowledgable and made us feel super comfortable. Chef Karmala's cooking class was a delight! Her infectious personality made the experience both hilarious and informative. Throughout the class, she patiently explained each step and answered all our questions. I felt comfortable and competent in the kitchen, which is a HUGE deal. I can't recommend Chef Karmala's classes highly enough вЂ“ whether you're a seasoned chef or a beginner, you're guaranteed to have a good time and come away with new skills. Mala was unbelievable. There were two of us in the course and she quickly adapted her presentation to the skill level of the audience. I've taken numerous courses throughout the years and have never had such a delightful experience. The recipes were well documented, the instruction clear and concise, and the personality of the chef was IMPECCABLE. I would take courses with Mala anytime!

Karmala has taught me to make some incredible, delicious meals. She has also taught me to put together the most amazing charcuterie board. She has also cooked the tastiest, heartwarming meals. She shows her expertise by preparing dishes from all over the world. She is a remarkable chef.
