Chef Alec

We had such a fun time with Chef Alec! It was fun to try something new, and he was very good about explaining everything as we went along. The food was delicious, and we certainly plan on trying another meal with him in the future! I am definitely recommending this experience to family and friends!

We had a great time with Chef Alec! It was very informative and fun in a nice, relaxed atmosphere. The food was excellent, and I certainly feel like now this is something we can make at home. We will certainly be doing another class in the future, and we have been recommending him to all our friends and family!!

I experienced the French cooking class as a double date with my boyfriend, my sister and her husband. What a memorable night! We were a tad hesitant going into the class because we weren't sure how comfortable we'd be in Chef Alec's apartment, but he made us feel very at ease. His space was clean and cozy, and between the music he had playing gently in the background, and the wine we were sipping as we cooked (we brought our own wine), the atmosphere and mood were relaxing and contributed to a truly enjoyable and unique experience. All four of us in our group enjoy cooking, so we really appreciated the fact that Chef Alec explained every step of the process for each dish. He shared helpful tips with us about layering the flavors in sauces, cooking chicken, and where to buy certain ingredients locally. He made French cooking seem much more approachable than we'd all believed it to be. We also really enjoyed hearing about Chef Alec's background, and he was kind enough to let us look through some of his French cookbooks, which we appreciated as well. Chef Alec served our meal while we relaxed and continued enjoying some wine. The presentation of each dish was beautiful and the flavors of each were truly unlike anything we'd ever tasted! We all agreed this one of the best meals we'd ever eaten. The Ratatouille, Coq Au Vin, and Tarte Aux Pommes were all exquisite. We agreed that we'd like to make this meal for our family someday soon and are confident that we could pull it off, thanks to Chef Alec's instruction. I've even made the Ratatouille for myself since this class and was pleased with how it turned out. I would recommend Cozymeal cooking classes and Chef Alec specifically to anyone who has a love for food and learning new cooking techniques. This was such a fun and unique date night, and I'll definitely be signing up for another Cozymeal class in the future!

The experience with Chef Alec was what we'd expected and more. Beyond his knowledge of cooking and the kitchen, Alec provided us with great conversation surrounding to the history of each course, ways we could use our new-found knowledge in the future, as well as what has inspired him to provide these classes. A great recommendation for your more seasoned cooks (my date) or beginners (myself).

Chef Alec was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made our experience great. He gave helpful tips and guidance throughout the whole process. The food was amazing and overall we had a great night. We highly recommend him to anyone!

I gave an experience to my gal pals this year for Christmas, an in-person cooking class! Through the entire process Chef Alec was a consummate professional, even creating the perfect gift certificate/message I was able to print and wrap. The pasta and sauces were fantastic and we learned handy tips throughout the evening! I recommend!!

Chef Alec gets 5/5 stars! Our experience was fabulous. We cooked a lovely Spanish meal of croquettes, paella, shrimp, and flan. He was an excellent teacher and provided a great experience to two people who enjoy cooking, but are definitely not experts! His kitchen was well prepared and he even serves you the meal after cooking.

Was an enjoyable experience with a nice and knowledgeable chef. Learned a lot and look forward to making our own pasta at home.

Chef Alec was amazing! He is very inviting and easy to work with, and he backs this attitude up with immense knowledge of cooking from all regions of the globe. The meal and experience were fantastic, and we especially enjoyed talking about his background and other types of cooking. He was even kind enough to share with us some flavored salts that he had brought back from his most recent visit to Japan. We look forward to incorporating what we learned into our own cooking and will certainly be returning for more lessons in the future.

We had a wonderful night cooking with Chef Alec! We decided to do the beginner pasta class which was super enjoyable and informative. Chef Alec was fun, personable, patient and a great teacher. Our group definitely booked this activity to mostly have fun and maybe learn a little about cooking. We definitely succeeded on the fun which Alec was kind of enough to joke around with us and as an added bonus, we learned a lot and had a delicious meal. We are already talking about what meal we would like to book next with chef Alec!

I'm not sure where to even start. I expected the food to be good, BUT every single dish was outstanding! Chef Alec was enjoyable to be around. He's very kind & personable. I can tell he loves what he does and has a passion for cooking & teaching.

I have worked with Alec for several years and can testify that his culinary skills and knowledge are a valued asset worth learning. His dishes are fresh, well thought out and incredibly delicious! He possesses a deep passion for food and it shows in every dish he prepares. His attention to detail with food presentations are simply eye-popping. If you are considering attending one of his classes, rest assured you will not be disappointed and will be learning from an up and coming culinary talent like no other.

I would give Alec a 4.5 out of 5 stars as a chef. As a coworker I would give him 5 out of 5. He is both skilled and patient as a chef, his presentation skills are fairly refined yet has some room for improvement. His pallet and taste selections are near the top of performance most of the time, there are on occasion where his spice is a little too much or his seasoning is slightly heavy or light, yet often times these are with new dishes he is experimenting with and is trying out for the first time. This is in my opinion understandable as I would not expect an chef to automatically be spot on in their execution of a new dish the first few times they tried it out let alone the very first time. Alec take the time to understand his clients, and does his best to meet their needs both in taste, texture, quantity and presentation. His pallet is broad enough with foods he has tried and cooked to impress most serious home cooks and I would say that his skills in the kitchen could compete with most dining establishments in Omaha. What is unparalleled in my opinion is his ability to talk to his clients and describe his techniques and his thought process when preparing various dishes. Having worked before in a professional kitchen I know that the ability to teach and convey this information is not easily found. His enthusiasm and passion for his craft is second to none. The man has a gift and loves to share it with the world, as with most of us it could use a little refinement which is why I rate him 4.5 out of 5 overall.
