We are extremely disappointed with the Cooking "Class" - Elegant French Fare with Rebecca, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
The class was billed as two-hour experience to learn classic French fare for beginners. In reality, the chef had prepared most of dishes already, and we were just there to chop a few vegetables or stir some pots. With eating the food, it was about 80 minutes. The chef didn't measure anything, tell us the ratios of ingredients, or teach us anything. We didn't even get the recipe and were told to message her after for the recipes. It was just chopping a few vegetables and stirring them in pots. She didn't even buy the right ingredients for the dishes we signed up to make. For example, instead of getting real Camembert cheese, she bought much cheaper brie cheese.
The worst part is that I purchased this experience for my husband as a birthday gift, but the chef seemed to ignore him. The only tasks he was given to do was peal pears and pour a bottle of wine into a pot. For how much we paid for this, he didn't learn anything.
On top of the poor experience with the "class" portion, we were greeted at the chef's home by a pile of cigarettes outside. When we got inside, the host opened the bottle of wine we were encouraged to bring, but the chef didn't seem to know how to do it, broke the cork, and didn't even have wine glasses. The chef didn't know how to set a table, plate food, or teach. I'm skeptical that any real vetting was done at all.
This felt like a bait and switch and definitely as advertised. We would not recommend it to anyone.
