My boyfriend and I enjoyed our experience with Rebecca. The meal was delicious, yet simple enough that we can recreate it ourselves at home. Her home kitchen was the perfect size and we appreciated her straightforward direction and friendliness.
Had a great experience with Rebecca during her visit to our house. She was very respectful, great company, and best of all cooked a very delicious meal. Would definitely recommend. Thanks Rebecca!
We made beef and papa's tacos with an elote corn salad and cilantro lime rice and finishing the evening with sopapillas. Wonderful instruction, adapting to our skill set and praising my younger son (13), who is unsure of his abilities in the kitchen. Overall, an amazing experience!
Thanks for a wonderful cooking class. The bruschetta bites were delicious and the flatbread was absolutely something we’re looking forward to making again.
Chef Rebecca was extremely professional and friendly, making our Cozymeal experience feel one-of-a-kind. She arrived on time and immediately set herself up in our tiny kitchen, explaining to me what she was planning. We had several people over and she made it feel like a truly deluxe offering, bringing out immaculately plated dish after dish, describing what they were, and sharing jokes with guests. We couldn't recommend a chef more highly! Such a lovely night!
What a wonderful & delicious evening we had with Chef Rebecca. Easy to understand her directions. It was a great way to celebrate two of our girlfriend’s birthdays!
My girlfriends and I had a fabulous time learning and cooking with Chef Rebecca. She was prepared, welcoming and fun to be around. The meal was delicious and we each definitely learned several new cooking tips.
Chef Rebecca was great! She was very communicative (asking about food allergies and being open to cooking at our place or hers), inviting (we cooked at her place), and friendly. Her recipes were educational (how to make regional Italian dishes), interesting (we could personalize our own flatbread pizzas), and delicious. I would definitely consider taking another class from her in the future and highly recommend her to others considering doing a Cozymeal cooking class.
Amazing class. Very kind hearted person who opened her home to me and my brother and showed us not only to prepare food but the patience and enjoying the process with it. Highly recommend.
This was a birthday present for a friend. The recipes were easy to follow. The meal was delicious. It was fun to cook with others and to get to know them a little during the meal. We had a fabulous time!
Cooking with Rebecca was such a wonderful experience! She was incredibly helpful, patient with our questions and our food was absolutely delicious. We absolutely would go back to try Rebecca’s other classes!
Rebecca was amazing. We had such a great experience and the food was fantastic. I would recommend to anyone to visit her and enjoy the experience with her. We travelled from Canada to California and feel we were very lucky to have met her. Thanks so much.
Chef Rebecca was amazing and very welcoming to her home. She was very patient and I learned tips and how to make a French Brie cheese with an apple compote. The experience was really good for my wife and I. The French Fare dinner was delicious and I learned to make a Ratatouille! Thank you, Chef Rebecca!!
Chef Rebecca was wonderful and very personable. We immediately felt welcomed in her beautiful home. She was quick to put us to work and engage us in making our meal. Everything was delicious and fun to make. Chef Rebecca really made the night a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone looking for an entry level class.
My wife and I really enjoyed the cooking class. Chef Rebecca was a really good host, pleasant, and gave us some good cooking tips. Most importantly the food was excellent!
Rebecca was personable and fun! The class was simple and the result was delicious! I look forward to recreating the experience with friends and family with confidence!
Our experience with Chef Rebecca was wonderful! Chef was very friendly, organized, and knowledgeable. The food was amazing and we learned cool new cooking tricks throughout that we will able to apply to other recipes in the future! Would definitely recommend one of her 6 courses!
Chef Rebecca was wonderful! Her instruction was great, the food was DELISH and we got leftovers! Would recommend for anyone in the LA area. Super easy to get to is you live on the west side.
Great experience Rebecca!!! Thank you for inviting us in to your home! The food and the ambiance was definitely top notch. Would you please be so kind as to send us the recipes from last night??? Thank you again!
Chef Rebecca was wonderful! She made our whole family feel a part of the cooking class and taught my two teenagers some excellent cooking skills. Her recipes were easy to follow, and the food we cooked was delicious. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fun family activity in the kitchen.
We had an amazing time with Chef Rebecca! She was a gracious host and we learned some great tips while having fun meeting new friends. A fun way to celebrate my hubby's birthday! Thanks so much, we will definitely do this again!
Rebecca was absolutely great! We had so much fun with her and learning her Dani’ family’s recipe. Although our group loves to cook on our own, we all picked up some helpful tips to add to our cooking skills bank. Highly recommend Rebecca and would love to take another class with her again!
Amazing night! Rebecca was super accommodating and extremely communicative prior to arriving. The menu was perfectly curated and her wonderful personality aided to the lovely backdrop for dinner. Flavorful and vibrant, each dish in our 3 course meal was a treat. I’m not a sweets fan but the poached pear was the best dessert I’ve had in years. I would absolutely recommend Rebecca! Thank you for the experience!
Chef Rebecca’s food is a tonic to the spirit. You can feel the love that goes into each dish and sense that it is prepared with a great deal of intention.
We found Chef Rebecca through one of her local cooking classes which we loved! Her food is deeeeliciois! Fresh ingredients, good service and fairly priced!
We are extremely disappointed with the Cooking "Class" - Elegant French Fare with Rebecca, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
The class was billed as two-hour experience to learn classic French fare for beginners. In reality, the chef had prepared most of dishes already, and we were just there to chop a few vegetables or stir some pots. With eating the food, it was about 80 minutes. The chef didn't measure anything, tell us the ratios of ingredients, or teach us anything. We didn't even get the recipe and were told to message her after for the recipes. It was just chopping a few vegetables and stirring them in pots. She didn't even buy the right ingredients for the dishes we signed up to make. For example, instead of getting real Camembert cheese, she bought much cheaper brie cheese.
The worst part is that I purchased this experience for my husband as a birthday gift, but the chef seemed to ignore him. The only tasks he was given to do was peal pears and pour a bottle of wine into a pot. For how much we paid for this, he didn't learn anything.
On top of the poor experience with the "class" portion, we were greeted at the chef's home by a pile of cigarettes outside. When we got inside, the host opened the bottle of wine we were encouraged to bring, but the chef didn't seem to know how to do it, broke the cork, and didn't even have wine glasses. The chef didn't know how to set a table, plate food, or teach. I'm skeptical that any real vetting was done at all.
This felt like a bait and switch and definitely as advertised. We would not recommend it to anyone.
The team had fun but thought this event was missing a lot. I think it should be clear to bring your own beverages as we were expecting at least cups and water. Also, the food was mostly prepared for us so no cutting or mixing of sauces or marinades. It was pretty much just roll your own roll and fill your own sandwich. Also, no one liked the dessert which was premade and was not tasty at all. I was really hoping to learn something about the sauces and marinades. For the price, I was expecting better food and at least water. The cooks were friendly and helpful but this format was a bit of a cluster and didn't get an opportunity to really cook anything.
We booked Chef Rebecca for a private cooking experience. The menu we selected listed a delicious-sounding tiramisu as the dessert course. It's one of our favorite desserts and we were very excited to try a freshly made tiramisu prepared for us by a chef. Instead, while we were still eating our main course, Rebecca threw two very cold, very clearly store-bought (likely from Ralph's) raspberry tarts in front of us and ran out. There was no check-in to see how things were going and we were clearly not even done with our entree yet so there was no reason to serve dessert yet. We were so shocked and she left so abruptly without any warning that we didn't even have a chance to ask her why she was serving us a store-bought pastry instead of what she had listed on the menu. Needless to say, the tart was absolutely terrible...If she was going to just buy something from the pastry section of a grocery store and pass it off as a "chef experience", she could have at least bought a tiramisu instead of a random tart. Very disappointed, we definitely would not have booked with her if we had known she was going to downgrade the menu without even doing us the courtesy of telling us in advance.
She was very kind, but unfortunately did not have any experience with working a pizza oven and I had told her in advance that we would be using a pizza oven.
While the chef is very friendly and has a nice home, that is not exactly what I expected nor paid for.
I did not make all that is mentioned in the advertisement. My husband and I made guacamole, beef and potatoes, the tortillas for the tacos, and was shown how to make the cinnamon sopapilla's. We did not make cilantro lime rice, avocado crema, nor frijoles borrachos. The event duration was about an hour. Do you typically make only certain parts? If so that should be mentioned when paying. I feel ripped off.
Also, the pictures of the food shown in the gallery for the Classic Mexican Street food depict a tortilla being made in a tortilla press, but we fried tortilla's from the store. That is very misleading. There was no "avocado crema" served with the tacos, just the guacamole we made so they were very dry and untasty. The cinnamon honey sopapilla's did not have honey as shown in the gallery as well. The chef fried the tortilla chips and shook them with sugar and cinnamon, no honey drizzle. I'm very confused as to how a menu can be shown that isn't followed.
This class is for people who REALLY can't cook, like at all. Save your money and watcha YouTube video.
