Chef Toshiyuki

Chef Toshi and his wife were spectacular hosts and such warm people. We had a wonderful time learning how to cook Japanese cuisine with them. Everything on the menu was delicious!

Thank you again for a wonderful experience. The service was friendly and polite, and the cooking location was intimate and tidy. We were greeted with a warm Japanese welcome that helped to create a cultural experience. Not to mention, the chef was knowledgeable, engaging, and patient throughout the experience. His wife and mini me helped to make the experience even more inviting. I would definitely recommend and cannot wait to impress my guests during the next dinner party with my new skills. LOL

Chef Toshi offers an incredible and engaging experience for his customers. The cozy confines of the kitchen made for a friendly and comfortable atmosphere, where the dynamic was less teacher-student and more friends sharing the joys of cooking. This was my first cooking lesson and I am glad that I took it with Chef Toshi, who offers a great service. He and his young family make for great company, while enjoying incredible food (and LOTS of it - we had plenty left over for dinner) and learning new skills. Highly recommended.

My wife and I attended Chef Toshiyuki’s “Sushi Making and Beyond” course for our 7th wedding anniversary weekend. I would HIGHLY recommend any of his courses, and we are looking forward to taking another as soon as possible! Chef Toshiyuki and his wife Aoki are two of the most genuine, friendly, hospitable and accommodating people my wife and I have had the pleasure of meeting! We were a bit nervous at first, as this was the first cooking class we’ve ever taken. Chef Toshiyuki made all aspects of his class as easy to understand as possible, and he provided valuable tips and resources for everything we went over during our session. He took the time to answer any and all of our questions thoroughly, and he allowed us to be as creative as we wanted to be once we grasped the basic concepts of rolling sushi. We shared a lot of laughs and made a LOT of rolls, and Aoki was even kind enough to take pictures during our time together, which she emailed to us afterwards. And it was very cool to be able to share a meal with Chef Toshiyuki & Aoki after our class, where we not only got to eat everything we learned to make in class (and more!), but we also got to learn more about them and share our story with them as well. It was just like having dinner and catching up with friends even though we just met for the first time that day! Chef Toshiyuki and Aoki never rushed us at any point, and my wife and I enjoyed every minute of our time with them! It was SO much more fulfilling, educational and FUN than just going out to a random restaurant for a nice, fancy dinner. If, for any reason, you’re on the fence about taking one of Chef Toshiyuki’s courses....DON’T BE! I’m confident that you’ll be glad that you went for it!

My husband's birthday was coming up and I wanted to do something fun and interactive that he would enjoy to celebrate. I stumbled across Cozymeal and decided to try it because of all the great reviews. I chose a cooking class with Chef Toshiyuki because my husband loves sushi! From the moment we arrived Chef and his wife were welcoming and inviting. I was nervous before arriving because I had never done a cooking class at someone's private home, but it exceeded all my expectations. Chef Toshiyuki made cooking fun, we shared lots of laughs, and this was one of my best experiences thus far. Not only was the food delicious, Chef Toshiyuki was patient with us and provided slow, step by step guidance on how to make a wonderful meal. Chef Toshiyuki and his wife provided us with great conversation and were so open with sharing their life experiences with us and answered all of our questions. They also took the time to listen to us as well and genuinely wanted to learn more about us. We truly value the time spent and would highly recommend this experience to our friends, family, and strangers. This was awesome and we cannot wait to do it again!!

Wow! What a unique and awesome experience! We learned a lot from Chef Toshiyuki! He is an amazing chef with really helpful tips and techniques. He has a lot of experience in cooking and you can tell he really loves it. The food was the best! His wife is a wonderful person and they were both so kind and welcoming. They are such a great team. We really enjoyed spending time in their kitchen and home chatting and eating delicious food. Highly recommend!

Chef Toshi is passionate about conserving the Japanese tradition and is very precise with his knife skills. From cutting sushi to a fruit presentation, Chef Toshi will elevate your food presentation game!

I enjoyed Toshi's sushi lesson so much! He had everything ready, so we could get right into sushi making. We practiced the techniques for making the rolls, and presentation. He had also prepared many traditional Japanese dishes for us to try, and everything was delicious. I would definitely recommend Toshi to anyone looking for a great chef for sushi demonstrations or to prepare food for an event.

My friend and I had a great time learning how to make sushi. Chef Toshi and his wife were the perfect team. They made us feel welcome and explained everything very clearly. As an added bonus, we learned a little about the Japanese culture. I recommend this class!
