Chef Kristin

My wife and I had a delightful afternoon and evening preparing an entire meal with Chef Kristin. We learned so much about gluten free flours and new, more efficient ways to cut up vegetables. Everything was so good, especially the dessert of sabayon over poached pears. Kristin's enthusiasm and energy was catching! We are definitely looking forward to more classes with Chef Kristin.

Amazing afternoon learning proper technique and improving our knife skills. Chef Kristin provided a very professional cooking experience in her fantastic kitchen and stunning home. The presentation and organization of the class was perfect for what we wanted to learn. She was a joy to learn from and share stories with. Highly recommend her for any of the courses she instructs.

Really informative class, lots of vegetable cutting with a chefs knife. Kristin is an accomplished chef who enjoys teaching in her beautiful home suited for sophisticated dining. We prepared five veggie dishes which we got to eat. Would recommend it for anyone who wants to understand the importance of preparation and basic vegetable cutting.

AMAZING!! Kristin set up an incredible, delicious experience for us. Her house is remarkable and tranquil. Kristin was such a kind, giving host. It was so cool to see how Kristin grows her own veggies and herbs. The meal was extremely delicious and Kristin was a great coach through the process. We left feeling very happy, healthy and satisfied. Kristin is so flexible and accommodating - I highly recommend this experience to any person with any type of diet!

Chef Kristin was an absolute joy! She is very knowledgeable about vegan and gluten-free eating. She was able to clearly explain how certain vegan substitutions work, and knew how to maximize flavor and texture in each dish. Her dishes are so fresh and creative that even someone who isn't vegan or gluten free would love them!

My husband and I decided to take a cooking class as a different idea for date night. We had such a great time cooking together in Chef Kristin's kitchen. The space is great and we got to enjoy the backyard space as well, eating the meal we made on their patio. We even pulled some of the fresh produce straight from their garden! We loved it and will definitely be back for another class.

I usually don't write reviews but am so impressed with Chef Kristin and the Orange Kitchen experience I wanted to share. In short, there is nothing like Orange Kitchen in Vista. I have now been to multiple Orange Kitchen cooking classes and had a blast each time. The whole experience is organized, informative, and relaxed. Chef Kristin is very knowledgeable and always provides the right level of information, guidance, and useful tips. Using my learnings in class and the materials provided, I have been able to replicate the plant based meals and the more complex gluten free baking recipes. Orange Kitchen has reignited my passion for cooking that faded as I uncovered my dietary restrictions. And perhaps most importantly, I've been inspired to eat and generally be more healthy thanks to Kristin.

I attended Orange Kitchen's "Culinary Knife Skills" class, Chef Kristin was the instructor. It was really practical, hands-on, and fun. We learned and practiced the fundamentals of Japanese and French cutting techniques, all of which I use every time I cook now. All our practice translated into a great meal we cooked together and shared. Chef Kristin also gave us affordable knife recommendations. I would highly recommend this class to anyone who cooks.

Being Celiac really stinks sometimes when it comes to dining out, so imagine my delight when I got a whole evening tailored to me and being gluten free! My husband got our family a private gluten free baking class with Chef Kristin. For the class itself, she made sure her kitchen was free of cross contaminants which is always a source of anxiety for any celiac. During the class, she taught us the fundamentals of GF baking - including how to balance taste, texture and nutrition (esp getting the right amount of fiber which is always important for celiacs). She had great suggestion for how to bake kid-friendly, mom-approved GF treats too - she and my 4 y/o hit it off (helps when she slipped her some chocolate chips :)) Best part? We made lots of treats to take home. Also, the space she teaches in is a dream - an outdoor and indoor kitchen and gorgeous view of Vista. Will keep an eye out for future classes to indulge in - I already have my eye on her Mexican class.

My girlfriend and I were looking for something different and fun to do on our weekly date night. We reached out to Chef Kristin to inquire about upcoming cooking class topics and availability. We ended up creating a completely private and custom cooking class and invited two other couples to join us. All we had to do was pick a class topic, day, and time. It was hands-on, educational, but also totally casual, Chef Kristin knew our goal was to simply have fun and enjoy each other's company. We had an awesome meal and a bunch of leftovers. We would highly recommend this for a fun social gathering of friends or couples night out.

My husband and I recently took a Gluten Free Brunch class at Orange Kitchen with a few friends. We all have different skill levels cooking wise and we all agreed that we came away with more knowledge about cooking and received some great cooking tips to use at home. The food was phenomenal and Chef Kristin was funny and very relaxed while still being professional. Best part was that we got to cook, take our meal and not have to clean up the mess. Her location is beautiful with a large kitchen that is very clean which really impressed us as we did not know what to expect. We will be planning another class soon. Thanks Chef Kristin!!

We had a blast at Orange Kitchen! Kristin made our experience fun and informative. We loved learning how to make easy plant-based meals and I can't wait to use the recipes at home when I'm strapped for time and need to get dinner on the table. Thank you, Chef Kristin!
