Craft your own flavorful comfort foods from Israel.

This engaging online cooking class taught by Chef Roxy will teach you the recipes and techniques for crafting authentic Israeli comfort foods. Improve your skills and enjoy a feast in your own kitchen.

First, learn how to make sweet and soft challah bread with yeast, sugar and flour, learning to knead and bake it. Then, make a savory shakshuka with red bell peppers and onions flavored with paprika and cumin. Make a tomato and cucumber chopped salad topped with a zesty lemon and mint to refresh your palate.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Prep Work Details

Pre-Course Prep: Start your Challah prep by mixing warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy. In a large bowl, combine the yeast mixture with flour, eggs, and salt. Knead until elastic and let it rest for an hour to double in size. Preheat your oven to 350В°F (175В°C). Simple but delicious, this prep sets you up for a meal that's both comforting and satisfying.
