In this hands-on class, Chef Luana will teach you the art of ravioli making, an artisanal skill that is lost to most modern home cooks. Crafting ravioli from scratch is an impressive feat and Chef Luana teaches you everything you need to know to create these small culinary miracles.

Born and raised in Italy, Chef Luana inherited a culinary passion from her grandmother. She has enjoyed entrepreneurial success at a beachside restaurant in Italy mainly due to her mastery with the pizza oven, as she is one of Italy’s few professional female pizza makers working with a wood burning oven. Chef Luana's old world recipes and techniques find new life in her classes with quality ingredients and genuine flavors.

My mom and I had a great time learning how to make raviolis with Chef Luana! She helped us step by step make the filling and the pasta dough. It was fun being able to get our hands "dirty" to make everything and assemble each raviolis. The raviolis were definitely some of the best we have both ever had! Chef Luana was very friendly and explained everything very well. We hope to take another class soon with more people that we know will also enjoy it!

I booked this class as a birthday gift. We were a group of five. The class by far exceeded my expectations! Chef Luana is fantastic - so knowledgeable and energetic. The ravioli she helped us make was the best ravioli I've ever tasted! Plus, she really went above and beyond and hung a 'happy birthday' banner, and even made a birthday cake! It felt really special and 'underground' to be in the home of such an accomplished chef, and she made us feel so welcome! I saw another reviewer mentioned she made them feel like family--I agree! It was really unique and we also learned a lot! I would highly recommend this to anyone and I hope to take another one of her classes!

This class was so much fun, and Luana was amazing! My friends and I booked this class for a birthday celebration for one of our best friends, and it’s an experience we will never forget. The spinach ravioli we made was the best I’ve ever had, and the homemade sauces were out of this world! Although making ravioli is a time consuming process, Luana helped us every step of the way and she was very patient and kind. Luana went above and beyond as she knew it was a birthday celebration and she added beautiful touches to our experience.
I highly recommend this class as Luana is the real deal…an authentic Italian chef who is passionate about her Italian roots and her Italian cuisine. I definitely have a new found appreciation for homemade ravioli and I will definitely be taking some of her other classes in the future.

Chef Luana was fabulous. Sge was warm,, welcoming and patient with beginners. I took my teenage granddaughter. We had lots of fun and learned how to make ravioli the homemade Italian way. We enjoyed the experience, especially eating the wonderful ravioli we made. I highly recommend her class.

This class is an authentic Italian experience taught by an Italian chef. Luana is very sweet and professional. The best part about this class is that I learned how to make fresh pasta and how to make ravioli in one class. Although that might seem overwhelming, all the instructions were really easy to follow. Luana also showed me tips and tricks along the way that I could only learn from such an experienced Italian chef. The end result was absolutely delicious. I’ll definitely be making ravioli at home now. I’m planning to try other classes with Luana. You can’t go wrong with this class.

Thank you to such an amazing class of delicious authentic ravioli (much better looking than what's pictured!!). Luana is from Italy and one of the first women to make and sell pizza in Italy! So many stories she has to share about her experiences. Nothing like restaurant because her stories really make the experience. Also, she's had a restaurant for decades before moving to America. We had such a lovely time in her warm and familial atmosphere of a home! It was wonderful getting to know her and her light-hearted soul. She's focused on good and warm energy and very detailed in her techniques. The ravioli was AMAZING. The best Italian I've had thus far, simple and full of rich flavor. She's a wonderful woman and with so much energy! I'm recommending her and her food to my friends.

My boyfriend and I had such a fun and educational experience with Chef Luana! From the start she was welcoming and kind. We started the day with delicious appetizers that she had prepared for us in advance. This gave us a chance to hear her story and all about her extensive experience and love for Italian food. This was followed by a breakdown of the tasks we would be completing and then we started to get our hands dirty. After the raviolis were complete, we shared a lovely meal! The ravioli was delicious. My boyfriend is still dreaming about her marinara sauce. We can’t recommend her class enough. We both hope to take another one of her classes in the near future!

The entire experience was extremely easy to follow and really fun! Me and my girlfriend both agreed that the food was amazing. We made spaghetti and fettuccine pasta from scratch and ate it with her vegetable tomato sauce and ragu sauce! Her hospitality and experience was a moment to remember. Chef Luana gave us an unforgettable experience in her pasta class. Not only did we learn how to make incredible pasta, but we were treated to a meal constructed only from Italian ingredients. Everything from her olive oil, flour, and cheeses, down to the white pepper and salt (no joke!) she either brought home from her last visit to Italy or sourced from her importer so that the food she prepares is as authentic as it gets. While our sauce cooked, before we prepared our pasta, Chef Luana made us a simple salad, which was divine. My mom and I were both in awe of how delicious our vegetable pasta with fettuccini was. We were practically licking our plates! And after our meal, she made us an espresso (also brought to us from Italy!) and it was the perfect end to a perfect meal. Thank you Chef Luana for a fabulous mother-daughter class!

It was such a fun filled class with Chef Luana. It was our mother's day celebration, child free time learning something new and Chef Luana made it very enjoyable. The gnocchi class with Chef Luana was absolutely fabulous. My better half and I had the best time learning and experiencing true Italian cuisine from this master chef! Had a fantastic experience making gnocchi with chef Luana! My boyfriend and I took the class for a birthday celebration, and it was a perfect way to enjoy time together while learning something new. Chef Luana was very welcoming and patient as she taught us her gnocchi recipe, as well as showed us how to make an amazing cheese sauce to go with it. She also provided homemade bread with bruschetta as an appetizer, and ice cream for dessert. Best cooking class experience I've had - great instructor, plenty of hands-on experience, and the best pasta I've ever tasted. Chef Luana is incredibly experienced, and it shows. We made fresh fettuccine and spaghetti pasta. And it's not your average fettuccine and spaghetti. Trust me. It blew my mind. What a lovely evening with an amazing chef! This was our first time doing a Cozymeal class and had no idea what to expect. Cooking class at someone’s place I never met? Ok.
Chef Luana was warm and welcoming. We walked in and she had everything set up so nicely with our working spots and the dining table. Then she explained how the evening would go. I immediately fell in love with her Italian accent and felt like I was back in Europe.
The class was fun as we joked around, and chef was very patient with us. The gnocchi was easier to make than I thought!! Once it was made and cooked we got to eat the fruits of our labor, including amazing bruschetta which I loved the eggplant, the gnocchi in tomato pork sauce and 4 cheese sauce. It was soooo delicious! We capped the memorable night with ice cream.

Chef Luana is amazing! You really are transported to Italy with her class. I surprised my husband with the gnocchi class for his birthday and it was just us with Chef Luana. Chef Luana is amazing. I got this class as a birthday gift for my spouse and invited two friends to join us. We had a great time. There was another couple in the class and we enjoyed their company. Chef Luana's hospitality was incredible she made me feel very comfortable and even through mistakes made while learning how to make pasta she patiently explained how to fix my mistakes. Pineapple with burrata was an amazing combo, and the homemade bread was great too! My wife and I came to her for a date night. We had no idea what to expect. This is by far the most authentic Italian meal you will ever have. Not only was the Chef welcoming, but she truly cared to teach us how to make the authentic dishes. Her recipes are past down from her grandma to her when she was a little girl growing up in Italy. I had a wonderful time cooking with Chef Luana! It was an intimate cooking experience where we learned how to make a delicious saffron risotto and chocolate mousse. We also prepared a pineapple burrata appetizer and a cannellini bean bruschetta. It was very educational and a fun, authentic, and collaborative environment. The whole experience made me feel like I was cooking with my Italian Aunt, who I miss so much. I felt very at home. The food was outstanding and we will most likely be taking a pasta class from her. Chef Luana's pizza class was an absolute delight. Her passion for Italian cuisine was infectious, and her expertise was evident in every step of the process. From the moment we started kneading the dough to the final bite of our homemade pizza, we were captivated by her knowledge and enthusiasm.
The class was not only informative but also incredibly fun. We learned valuable techniques, such as the perfect ratio of flour to water and the importance of a well-fermented dough. Chef Luana's guidance was clear and easy to follow, making the experience enjoyable for both experienced and novice cooks. Who knew you could cut pizza with scissors.
The pizzas we created were absolutely delicious. The crust was perfectly crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside, and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. We went home with more pizza than we could eat, as well as extra dough to experiment with later.
Overall, Chef Luana's pizza class was a fantastic experience that I highly recommend. It's a fun, informative, and delicious way to learn a new skill and appreciate the art of making authentic Italian pizza.

Chef Luana is the real deal, and even has her own restaurant in Italy! My husband and I took her pizza-making class and loved it! She was friendly, patient, humorous, and informative, making sure we learned but also had fun. And she infused some stories and tidbits about her Italian culture!
Luana provided the perfect balance of giving us participation/experience at every level, but also having some items prepped because they take longer (ex: yeast needs hours to proof and and dough needs to rise, so we made our own to learn how but she had dough prepped and ready to use)
We got to make 3 different pizzas, with some options to customize. They were all beautiful and delicious! The crust was light and crispy and unlike any other; we can't wait to try out what we learned, at home. We would definitely recommend Luana and one of her many Italian cooking classes!

We made multiple flavors (all of which were amazing) and she really does a great job at making sure you have a wonderful time while also learning how to make your own pizza. A group of friends and I attended Chef Luana’s pasta making class & we couldn’t have had a better time. Chef Luana is kind, charismatic, very knowledgeable, and downright hilarious as well as hospitable. I was only in LA for the weekend and Chef Luana accommodated me the best she could with a gnocchi class a few hours before my flight. Normally the class is taken in pairs or couples but I was by myself and because I was the only one who signed up for the class that day, I was able to get one on one instruction from her. Her apartment was lovely and very accommodating for a learning environment.
For the sake of time, Chef Luana had already started some of the prep as I walked into her apartment. The class provided a three course vegetarian meal with the lesson: an appetizer of bruschetta (prepared in three ways-one traditional with tomatoes, basil, and onion; one with eggplant; and one with artichoke hearts), our handmade gnocchi from scratch with two types of sauces (traditional tomato and four cheese), and lastly, for dessert: affogato.
I loved Luana’s hospitality and authentic Italian accent. I don’t hear that all the time, so it made the class more fun :)
Everything was cooked efficiently and was very delicious. I highly recommend taking cooking classes with Chef Luana. She also offers pasta classes, bread classes, and possibly more. I had a great time and would love to coordinate with her if I’m in visiting LA again.

Amazing! My wife and me took this class while we were on vacation for our ten year anniversary. It was our first cooking class together and it was amazing. What a fantastic experience. Chef Luana was ready for my wife and I as soon as we arrived. She interspersed cooking instructions with some of her personal history so we got a sense of why she loves cooking. The whole experience was very hands on and ended with some of the most delicious pizza we have ever eaten. She sent us home with leftover pizza and some dough (that we made!) to make more pizzas soon. We will go back to her for other classes!

What a fantastic experience straight from Italy! Everything was so easy and prepared. We could easily socialize with our group of friends and make gnocchi simultaneously. Very low stress environment and once the gnocchi was done, we were able to sit around the table, drink wine and relax! Cooking with Chef Luana was a truly fantastic experience. Right from our arrival, she made sure my wife and I felt comfortable in her home. We had an amazing time learning to make gnocchi yesterday from Chef Luana! When we arrived, we smelled fresh baked bread that she had made herself, which she served as part of the appetizer (3 different flavors of bruschetta). It tasted delicious! And when it came time to learn how to make the gnocchi, she was a wonderful teacher. I felt as if I was learning how to cook from a family member. Luana was so patient and sweet. It was truly a pleasure to learn from her. The gnocchi came out sooo good and we had made so much that there was plenty left over for us to take home. To top it all off, for dessert, we had a delicious affogato. Yum! We love Chef Luana and I highly recommend her!

Chef Luana was WONDERFUL. My boyfriend and I had a great time! We were there with two other couples, and made fettuccine and spaghetti. Both pastas, one with meat sauce and one with veggie sauce, were some of the most delicious pasta I've ever had. More than that, Chef Luana is a wonderful person to be around. She is very kind, and makes sure you don't mess up, even if you no experience whatsoever. After making the pasta, we ate it for dinner, and then Chef Luana served us tiramisu and tea for free for dessert. She even showed me some of her crocheted bags after, and I am going to buy one! Overall, it felt like stepping into a relative's house deep in the heart of Italy. Thank you Chef Luana!

One of the most fun culinary experiences I’ve ever had. Chef Luana is the real deal. To be making pasta from scratch in her own home felt like we were in Italy. She’s been cooking since she was 18 and was a great teacher. We could really feel the love for what she does and in the food. This class was amazing! I took my boyfriend for his birthday. It was a very intimate setting in Chef Luana's house. She was warm and friendly - it was truly like having an Italian nonna teaching you how to make pizza. She had everything staged wonderfully so that we could see each step of the pizza making process. She allowed us to take many pictures of each step so we'd be able to recreate it at home. She also had us take pictures of the ingredients she used.
The pizzas themselves were incredible. The dough was chewy and crispy and just was the right texture. She gave us all the leftovers which were still amazing the next day.
Great food, great conversation, and Luana has over 35 years of pizza making experience from her pizzeria in Italy - it was cool to hear her life story!
I definitely would recommend this class!

Chef Luana’s class was amazing! From start to finish, she was communicative, kind, and an all-around joy to spend time with. I booked this class for my boyfriend’s birthday and she had a birthday sign hanging when we walked in. It was a thoughtful little touch.
It was our first time making gnocchi from scratch. Chef made the experience fun and informative, and shared her stories of Italy, family, and cooking throughout our time together. The food was delicious (especially her homemade eggplant toppings for the bruschetta). We had so many leftovers to take home with us too, and she also sent us home with a jar of fresh tomato sauce.
Not sure why there’s a negative review on here given so many positive ones. Overall, would recommend for date night, a group experience with friends, or even something solo to treat yourself to!

Great class! Chef Luana was very knowledgeable about the pasta and explained to us the reasoning behind every step. The instructions were very easy to follow and the results were phenomenal. The class was held at her place, which was very cozy. If you are looking an activity you want to for 2-3 hours, I recommend taking a class with her. I took the class “Food that Empowers Your Mind†with my two colleagues for a team bonding experience and we had a fantastic time! The food was fresh, delicious, and we learned valuable tips for making risotto. Chef Luana was a joy to be around. She has so much knowledge to share about cooking and it inspired me to spend more time cooking at home because it can taste better and be better for you than ordering out. We work at an environmental nonprofit and I appreciated the sustainability aspect of it as well. No plastic water bottles, she gave us each water glasses and had a water cooler, we each got our own hand towel for the bathroom, and the food is bought in larger quantities. I recommend Chef Luana to anyone wanting to learn or be inspired to cook more, and it’s a great unique opportunity for work/family/friend events.

We had an amazing experience with Chef Luana! It was a great time learning about to make handmade pasta for the first time. We were taught step by step how to make the pasta and how to work the equipment. She showed us the tips and tricks on how to make the perfect pasta. She is very friendly and charismatic and made us feel at home from beginning until the end. The food was very delicious, some of the best Italian food I've ever tasted. Never made pasta from scratch before and after this class can’t wait to make it again. Chef Luana was a great instructor and having her explain all the nuances in person was so valuable. The whole experience was a lot of fun. She welcomed us graciously into her home and got us set up with proper hand cleaning and work stations. She has a lot of energy and the time flew by. Very engaging and comfortable. We made two types of pasta and learned lots from trying it ourselves AND watching others. Her sauces were delicious. We were also treated to tasty dessert and limoncello. I highly recommend it!

Our pasta making class with Chef Luana was fantastic. The directions to her apartment were very clear. Her apartment was clean and organized with lots of work space. The class was small, only consisting of four of us, which catered to her providing us with individual attention. She had previously prepared two different sauce types that we got to try. Once we prepared the two different pastas she cooked them up and we ate a delicious meal. You could tell Chef Luana was very passionate about her work for cooking and teaching. This was a great activity and I would definitely come again in the future.

We had a great experience with Luana at the Fundamentals of Handmade Pasta Cooking Class! Luana welcomed us into her home and taught us how to create a delicious Italian meal. She taught us step by step how to make spaghetti and fettuccine from scratch and graciously gave us small bites in between. In addition to the pasta, we had bruschetta and salad to start and a slice of cake for dessert. We even had leftovers to take home with us. Chef Luana is the best! We had a great time making risotto with her. You can tell she is exceptionally passionate and knowledgeable, and she really wants to share her expertise with others. We made 2 types of risotto: mushroom + shrimp and zucchini. I rarely eat seafood, but WOW - that shrimp risotto was excellent! She also helped us make beautiful pastries with homemade jam, and even prepared extras for us to take home; it was such a nice touch to a great evening! YOU are IN for a thrilling night. I had no idea what to expect of my evening as I was gifted this experience. I am writing this review from a surprised, un expecting point of view.
From the start Launa was kind, and patient when we phoned to tell her we would be a few minutes late. ((learn from us; leave 5-7 minutes earlier)) Once we arrived I was greeted with the airy aroma of freshness. It was such a thrilling experience being handed a apron and our own prepping station. I was able to work alongside my partner making valuable memories in teamwork.
Throughout the process I was able to learn facts, and hacks professionals use for the making of pizza which was great because they later make for great conversation starters. I got to ask my burning questions. However, I didn't get to ask ALL so I would encourage you to write questions in advance; taking advantage that you are asking a master! If you bring your bottle of choice, you are able to dine more comfortably, but if you are like us and did not. Chef Launa has just about everything. Also, if you happen to like her authentic Italian drinks, she has more for you to take home!
The dining part happened to be my favorite favorite. Chef Launa has a passion for what she does, it is o so obvious and contagious. Chef Launa structures her life around this lifestyle because of that we are all brought a little closer; She is dedicated, inspiring, and has so much knowledge to offer you. It is rare to find a genuine teacher who paved a way for themselves. Nobody will be able to take away chefs knowledge for her specialty, and neither will they from you once you take this amazing class. I am so thankful for this opportunity, Chef makes your life easier so all you takeaway from this experience is the lost calories from laughter, and delicious airy pizza. At the end of the night just when my partner and I were ready to head out for dessert; she offered just as she had all evening.
Overall, the evening was a fantastic experience. Launa was so encouraging and urged you to take food home. This was such a refreshing experience for the mind, soul, and belly; A mighty per-fect afternoon.

It was like going to your friends mothers Italian household and being invited to get a lesson in the true traditional ways of making pasta. There is no messing around when it comes to pasta, and if you are doing it incorrectly, Chef Luana will smack you into your place (not literally). Respect for the food is key. This was a great experience. I attended the event with young kids who were curious about cooking along side a chef and all of their questions were answered. In a very patient manner, she dedicated the right amount of time to course correct and improve our skills so that we could replicate the gnocchi making experience at home. This class was amazing!! My boyfriend and I went to celebrate his birthday and we both had a blast. Chef Luana was extremely welcoming and kind, and it was very fun to learn how to make gnocchi from her. She also prepared bruschetta and dessert, and all of it was top tier. There were two other couples as well, and it was very fun to get to interact with them and eat with them after we made the food. 10/10 would recommend, and we will definitely be back!

Chef Luana was a wonderful instructor. She clearly articulated instructions and physically guided my friend and I through the process of making pasta from scratch with her unique charisma and humor. The highlight of this experience for me was being able to sample Chef Luana's green spinach Tagliatelle - it was one of the best plates of pasta I've had in the 4 years that I've lived in LA. Of course, the plate of pasta my friend and I made was delicious as well, and Chef Luana sent us both home with some extras. I wasn't sure what to expect walking into my first Cozymeal experience. I see the emails all the time and finally decided to try pasta making. Then, I arrived late; but, by the end of the night, my anxiety had melted away. I made and ate some amazing pasta and found some new friends.
I’ve watched pasta making online, but it’s not quite the same. Chef Luana took care in guiding us through the process of making pasta from beginning to end (mistakes or not). We cooked and shared stories with each other. I felt welcomed and full with food.

This was an amazing experience! My boyfriend had booked this session for our anniversary and we had a blast! Chef Luana is a delightful person and she had everything prepared and ready to go as soon as we arrived. We made the gnocchi dough from scratch and shaped it during the first past of the experience. We then helped her boil the handmade pasta. Afterwards, she prepared them in two different sauces. We had bruschetta first, followed by the gnocchi, and then ice cream. The whole meal tasted amazing. It was better than even the restaurants I’ve been to around the Hollywood area. This experience is a must to enjoy! We will definitely come visit Chef Luana again.

Our class was wonderful. As soon as we walked in, Chef Luana made us feel at home. She decorated the table for Valentines Day which was a thoughtful touch! There were two other couples there and it was just the right size group to get to know each other a bit and enjoy a meal with everyone together. We each had a few minutes to work with her in the kitchen, and the rest of the time we listened and watched as the recipe came together. The only thing that would have been nice is if we each had some food preparation task or something else we could do to participate more. Overall it was a really fun and interesting experience. :)

This was my first Cozymeal experience so I wasn't sure what to expect, but it was fun. I recommend it to anyone interested in cooking Italian cuisine. I did the risotto menu with Chef Luana and would certainly feel comfortable cooking this on my own now. She really spoiled us with extras like truffles and different kinds of cheese to go with our main dish. Her apartment is nice and it was a pleasure getting to know the other guests as well.

We did this as a birthday present for my brother, and it was a fun and delicious treat for all of us! There was 3 in our party and we had the whole class to ourselves. The spaghetti we made was so delicious! I had never had pasta that fresh before! It was a great balance of her teaching us and helping us through the process, and her having some stuff pre-prepared so that it didn’t actually feel like a ton of work and we could relax and enjoy ourselves. In addition to the spaghetti we made, Chef Luana made an arugula caprese salad, some fried eggplants and zucchini, a second pasta with a sauce we helped make, and ice cream adffogato for dessert! Needless to say we were stuffed by the end. We also got to take all the leftovers and extra pasta that we didn’t cook home, so that will be several additional meals worth. Chef Luana was very friendly and chatty the whole time. We learned a lot about her background and family. It was a cozy intimate experience that felt very unique and special. We are planning to come back for her gnocchi class when my partner’s parents visit. We highly recommend!

We would highly recommend Chef Luana and her class! Chef Luana prepared a wonderful evening for my brother-in-law’s birthday. She even put up Happy Birthday decorations in her home to make the night special for him. We enjoyed learning about making tomato sauce and spaghetti noodles from scratch. Chef Luana also prepared several appetizers, an additional main to accompany the spaghetti, along with affogato for dessert. The food was delicious - none of us had ever tasted pasta so fresh. At first the price may seem steep for a simple lesson, especially for a dish as simple as Pasta. (and don't get me wrong! Pasta can be a very simple dish). But I wanted to take my girlfriend to Chef Luana's course just for the experience at first. It was only after that I realized that making simple store-bought pasta at home (boxed pasta, tomato sauce, etc) is entirely different than having the chance to learn an AUTHENTIC recipe, passed down through a real family, cooked for generations by real people. It was hands down, the best pasta I've ever had. And it was just 4 ingredients. Definitely worth it, and now i'll be able to make this food for the rest of my life!

Great class. My bf wanted to learn how to make pasta from scratch so we took a pasta class with chef Luana. It was us and one other couple. We were grouped in pairs of two and we both got to make our own dough. Then each individual took turns running it through the machine. We made two different kinds: Spaghetti and fettuccini. It was easily the best pasta we had ever had. We took home the leftover uncooked pasta (there was quite a lot!), which made for an easy lunch/dinner the next day. :)

Chef Luana was a fantastic host. She was so warm and welcoming. We had the best time learning from her and hearing all of her great stories.
All of the food was amazing, even though the appetizer and dessert were different than what was on the menu we booked. We were able to overlook that because she was so great.

What a wonderful experience! We attended the pizza making class with Chef Luana and, seriously, we made the best pizza we have ever eaten! Chef Luana has over 30 years of experience making pizza (most of that time at a popular pizzeria + ristorante in Italy) and you will notice that. The process of making good pizza dough is complex and Chef Luana walks you elegantly through ever step of the way. And, at the end of the class, she also had two nice surprises for us: one special dough with the shape of a ravioli (sorry chef, I forgot the name) and a delicious tiramisu. All in all, 5/5 stars! What an amazing experience! It was our first time making pasta from scratch and thankfully Chef Luana was there to help us every step of the way. All of the food was delicious, from the appetizers to the yummy green tagliatelle and even the spaghetti we made ourselves. Chef Luana also baked a birthday cake, which was very thoughtful! For my first Cozymeal experience, I had the pleasure of working alongside the knowledgeable and kind Chef Luana! As soon as I arrived, I felt like it would be a very welcoming place to spend a couple of hours in and I was right! Chef Luana demonstrated the process of making fresh pasta, and made sure we got plenty of hands on experience. The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. We especially enjoyed the special treats that we got for appetizers and dessert. Chef Luana introduced us to the wonderful world of Italy. She was very good at giving tips and instruction on secrets to Italian cooking. The mushroom risotto is underrated and a great dish to learn! We meticulously went through all the steps to cook it al dente and I loved her story behind her opening of her restaurant in Italy. Chef Luana shares her traditional Italian pizza secrets. I booked her pizza class for my nephew’s 13th birthday and boy did she go above and beyond for us. She taught us everything we needed to know and we were able to sit and enjoy our very own delicious pizza at the end. She even baked a cake for my nephew and had a gift for him. She made the class a fun, covid safe and educational class. My nephew absolutely had so much fun and hearing him giggle throughout the class gave me so much joy. We had such a great experience with Chef Luana and by far exceeded all of our expectations. The process of making the pasta was simple and fun and the final product was the best pasta we've ever had. What makes her class so unique is that not only do you learn to make the pasta, but you learn so much about the culture as she had her own restaurant in Italy. She shared personal stories and made us feel completely at home. Chef Luana provided complimentary appetizers (the best bruschetta we've ever had) and homemade tiramisu. This classes was definitely worth it and you make enough pasta to bring back home and make another meal on your own.

I wanted to find an engaging and interactive activity for date night, and I am so glad I came across Chef Luana. My date, who is also
Italian, really enjoyed the authentic Italian food experience. The pasta making process was very fun, and Chef Luana was very informative
and helpful every step of the way. She was also very friendly and made us feel comfortable in her home. She served us a light appetizer and
also included her famous homemade Tiramisu for dessert. Once the food was ready, we were seated at a beautifully decorated table, almost as beautiful as my date, with an awesome view of the city. For dinner we
prepared spaghetti and spinach mushroom tagliatelle and it was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back to try Chef
Luana's authentic Italian homemade pizza. Anyway, if there's one thing I can take away from this experience, it's that I love all things Italian.
Please note - Chef Luana followed all CDC protocols with face masks and gloves and her home is very clean.

Chef Luana is so kind and hospitable and shares her knowledge graciously about making pasta! In this class it’s amazing that you get to try two different types of pasta. I highly suggest trying the mushroom and sausage pasta with the green pasta. It’s the best pasta I’ve ever had! It’s so joyful and satisfying being able to make your own pasta and sauce from scratch - to making the dough, kneading it, rolling/cutting it, and even cutting everything to make the sauces!
You’ll love it so much! Appetizers and even a coffee and sample of some tiramisu dessert was included. You can’t beat this pasta experience with Chef Luana! She’s so experienced and it was the most authentic Italian meal I’ve ever had. LOVED IT! TAKE THIS CLASS :)

Wow! What an experience! We loved Chef Luana! She is a real, italian chef who owned an amazing restaurant in Italy. She opened up her home to us and made us feel welcomed. You can feel her passion for cooking - she uses the highest quality ingredients (some imported from Italy) and pours love into each dish. From the second the door opens, you feel like you’ve arrived at a family meet. Chef Luana made us feel welcomed and immediately comfortable during these times of Covid restrictions. My date and I are both in healthcare therefore Social distances and cleanliness was A priority. This was highly visible and applied by chef Luana. Go see her, she’s got it down for sure.
Complimentary apps and bread was supplied much to our surprise. DELICIOUS stuffed olives!! We had a dietary restriction and chef even provided an option for that!!
Her interactive teaching methods made our date extremely rewarding. We worked individually and as a team testing that ability in our early relationship.

Chef Luana and her husband really bring a taste of authenticity with their stories managing a restaurant in their Italian coast hometown. I now have a new destination for travel.

I did this as a surprise for my boyfriend's birthday, and the gnocchi did not disappoint. Chef Luana is hands down (pun intended) one of the most hospitable people we’ve got to meet. She made us feel very welcome and comfortable from the moment we arrived until we left.
The second she opened her door, she greeted us warmly and invited us in. She had us hang around her living room and added that she had made us some appetizers to try. We were able to taste some of her best samples that was passed through her family recipes from the Tuscany village, Castelvecchio Pascoli. One of our favorites were her deep fried breaded olives that she prepared for us in advance. After chatting with her about her hometown and getting settled in, she got us into our CozyMeal aprons to start the class!
We were fortunate enough to have her teach us how to make amazing pasta dishes. We started off with learning the ingredients for the beef ragu which incorporated us prepping carrots and celery alongside her showing us how to season the sauces. We used spaghetti noodles to stir those all in together. The second pasta we were happy to learn was the spinach tagliatelle with pan fried sausage and mushrooms! It was an interesting twist to most Italian pastas we tried and the spinach noodles had a chewy texture that was hard to pass up.
The cooking class spanned up to 4 hours and we were happy to learn how to properly make handmade pasta from just flour and eggs. She provided all of the equipment and food, all we had to bring was our curiosity to learn and empty bellies. I encourage anyone who wants to have an authentic experience with Italian cooking to try learning with Chef Luana! She was so warm, friendly, and led the class with confidence so those who are not too comfortable with the kitchen yet is encouraged to try starting it off with her.
We experienced her passion for cooking which made this class memorable. Highly recommend taking one of her classes, not only did we learn how to make delicious handmade pasta but our time with Chef Luana is something we will not forget.

My husband and I had an amazing time learning from Chef Luana! She is such a delightful person who immediately made us feel right at home. She had made us appetizers to enjoy when we arrived which were delicious, and then we got to work on the pasta making process. Chef Luana was a wonderful teacher, she explained everything very clearly and I am confident that we will be able to replicate the recipe on our own at home! She not only taught us how to make pasta, but also showed us how to make 2 delicious sauces to go along with it. She was very thoughtful in asking about dietary restrictions, I don’t eat red meat but my husband loves it so we made one fresh, bright and delicious tomato sauce and then a rich and flavorful mushroom sausage sauce. We were so excited and proud to eat the pasta that we made from scratch and let me tell you, it was DELICIOUS! After our pasta, Chef Luana served us dessert of delightful Italian cake and cappuccino. We also loved that we got to take home the pasta that we didn’t finish. Chef Luana showed us a lovely night of Italian hospitality, and we had so much fun learning from this incredibly knowledgeable and skilled chef. I love to cook and have wanted to learn to make pasta for quite a while. My husband and I took Chef Luana's "Fundamentals of Handmade Pasta" class yesterday and it was an amazing experience! Chef Luana was so warm and welcoming when we arrived and she prepared appetizers while she shared stories about her background and her restaurant in Italy. During the class, we learned to make two types of pasta and two sauces and the instruction was spot on - I learned so much and feel absolutely confident that I could recreate these dishes in my kitchen. She was easy to understand, quite thorough and we learned a lot. I have taken some cooking classes in the past at Eataly but Chef Luana blew them away.

My fiance and I were fortunate enough to take a Pasta Making class from Chef Luana a day after Christmas and it was SO much fun and really delicious. I learned so many new things about making pasta and the sauces to accompany. Chef Luana was very accommodating in making sure to omit any ingredients we didn't like and worked around that. As we ate, she cooked another meal for her Italian guests in town and with everyone speaking Italian we felt immersed in her beautiful culture. We even got homemade bread and ravioli for an appetizer and a yummy dessert at the end. We felt like we were in her house in Italy -right here in LA! We had a wonderful afternoon learning how to make gnocchi with Chef Luana. She was a wonderful teacher and the food was delicious. Our experience with Chef Luana was amazing. My daughters were visiting from out of town so I thought this would be a good experience for us to bond over. We all love to cook. The night at Chef Luana's place was the highlight of their visit. We learned a great deal about making Risotto and the food was beyond fabulous.
If you are familiar with making Risotto you know that it's a slow process. We were in the midst of adding broth to the Risotto when an earthquake struck. Everyone in the class ran down 9 flights of stairs with the exception of the Chef who stayed back and kept a watchful eye on the pot. Needless to say, both Risottos turned out perfectly.

Chef Luana was a wonderful host for our party of 4. Our Cozymeal time was quite an eventful experience. Not only did we learn the tradition of risotto, but we learned earthquake evacuation and safety strategy during the 7.1 Los Angeles earthquake! Chef Luana and her husband were prompt responders and supportive of us.
When I booked the class, I told her this was for my sisters 30th birthday celebration. At the end of the class she had a cake; which she said she typically makes for classes, and with her own dough! But for us, she had gotten "3-0" candles and joined in our celebration by going a step above her typical closing routine. I thought this was a genuine, thoughtful gift from Chef Luana and I know our family appreciated her effort.

This experience was slightly different than I expected but overall, a wonderful learning opportunity! I thought each person would be given ingredients, tools and space to follow along with the chef and create/eat their own dish. Rather, Chef Luana explained her path and experiences with Italian cooking and showed us how to make the risotto dish, which was absolutely delicious! There was a part of the class that was more hands on during the prep, but most of it was observation and listening. I recommend taking a note pad to remember all of the wonderful tips and tricks we learned!
Overall, the experience was enjoyable and we learned some great "rule-of-thumb" tips for a variety of cooking (not just risotto).

My fiancé and I decided to take the pasta making class after we came back from our trip to Italy. I can honestly say that the spinach pasta we made tasted better than any pasta we had in Italy. It was very fun and easy to learn how to prepare these dishes and Luana is very, very experienced in traditional Italian cuisine. She was very easy to work with and told us a lot of fun stories about how she became an Italian chef, with her recipes passed down for generations. I would HIGHLY recommend this class!

This class was a unique, fun, social and educational experience! Chef Luana is warm, kind, inviting, and an excellent teacher. She opened her heart and home to us. She had delicious home made appetizers (which are her grandmother’s recipes) waiting for us when we arrived. The food was delicious and we really felt like we were transported to Italy for the night! We were a party of 6 people, a large group for her small apartment/kitchen, but she was very well organized. As it was for my husband 50th birthday, she surprised us with an extra special treat!

We went to Chef Luana (an authentic Italian), for my gf’s bday.
My gf is a devout hater of mushrooms, but LOVED the chef’s mushroom tagliatelle and even ate it for the following day’s lunch.
The Chef’s attention to detail and all other facets of the dinner preparation were superb and we hope to work with her again soon!!

Wow, this was more than a class. First time I’ve used cozymeal. My daughter, girlfriend and I enjoy Italian food and we picked the perfect Chef, Luana. She went beyond what I was expecting. Chef Luana made the evening into a great experience for everyone. Chef Luana had appetizers waiting for us when we arrived. One of them was Piconi. They were so good. My daughter enjoys baking and Chef Luana took the time to explain the steps and why the steps were necessary. Chef Luana has been making pizza for over 40 years in Italy and she arrived with her husband just a few years ago. So, she still has that authentic way of making pizza. After multiple pizzas, Chef Launa treated us to a wonderful dessert, crostata (with homemade orange jam on top) with a scoop of ice cream on it. To die for! Highly recommend. Thanks, Chef Luana.

Chef Luana was so warm and gracious. She was able to set up the meal to accommodate a vegetarian and lactose intolerant client (which is hard for Italian meal). We had everything from appetizer to dessert in a very relaxed environment. The view of the city was wonderful as was the meal. Her teaching style is very hands on and gives you confidence that you can learn. The food was excellent and was a great Mother's Day experience. I would recommend this for a class or private meal which she also offers. Looking forward to returning to learn how to cook a few more challenging dishes. Also her lemon tart was fantastic.

I booked Chef Luana’s pasta making class for my boyfriend’s and I anniversary. We were looking for a unique and fun experience and Chef Luana did not disappoint! She greeted us with open arms, and delicious antipasti which are her grandmother’s recipes. The two different pastas we made from scratch were some of the best we had and, to top it off, she presented us with homemade tiramisu and cappuccino. It was a lovely (and delicious!) experience. We will definitely be booking another class with Chef Luana soon!

So it was a few weeks before valentines and my girlfriend and I wanted to have a unique experience, so we decided to try a cooking class and learn to make pasta. Hands down, one of the most intimate and fun experiences I’ve ever had. Chef Luana was very personable and a warm and inviting and professional. We were given very precise instructions on how to get to the class site (her home) and was warmly greeted by her at the door. Once our entire party arrived, we were sat and given some delicious traditional Italian appetizers. It was my first time to have stuffed olives and they were delicious, and that’s coming from a guy that dislikes olives. We then proceeded to learn about a couple of sauces that are used in today’s meals and proceeded to begin the pasta making. Chef Luana was attentive and provided us great step by step instructions to start making the dough. One of the most exciting parts was the rolling and cutting of pasta. After cooking the pasta and combing all of our hard work we all sat down to enjoy the fruits of our fun labor for the day. With all the information and instructions from Chef Luana, everyone in our group feels a lot more confident in making our own pasta. We so happy with the class we are planning to take another course with Chef in the near future.

I knew I made the right choice in Chef Luana the second we walked through the door! I wanted to surprise my Italian boyfriend with an authentic Italian cooking class, and Luana did not disappoint. We were greeted with appetizers and a wine opener for the bottle we brought, and she had everything timed perfectly so the class and lesson flowed seamlessly. We were a solo couple, but she can entertain up to 3 couples, or groups with enough warning! The ingredients were incredibly fresh, she explained everything with ease, we had a blast with the pasta machine, and we left with full stomachs and happy hearts. We can't wait to return for another recipe lesson, or else hire her for a special occasion!

What a wonderful evening! Great food and great company. My daughter and I were looking for a different experience over her holiday break from school, and this could not have been better.
In honesty, I was slightly hesitant when I realized we'd be coming into Chef Luana's home to not only learn the skills to make fresh pasta, but to share dinner with the other guest who we did not know. It's a bit out of my comfort zone...but, Chef Luana instantly made us feel at home, in her home. We were (3) couples, with neither knowing each other, and through Chef sharing her history of her restaurant in Italy as well as her life overall, we soon were all sharing our histories with each other. It was a full evening of learning, cooking, with wonderful conversation, and amazing food.
I can't recommend Chef Luana's class enough. She's so knowledgable, but she's just a joy to be around. Her full focus is her students and guests. I'll be back for her other classes. Thankyou Chef!

Luana was wonderful! If you are looking for an authentic Italian cooking experience this is it. Upon arrival, there were freshly baked Italian goods to snack on...and within minutes we were making pasta from scratch. Luana provided great guidance and is focused on making this a fun evening. Luana was an amazing chef, teacher, and host. This is an authentic Italian experience that is simultaneously educational, inspiring, and fun. The setting is perfect and makes you feel as if you are in Ascoli Piceno with Italian family for a moment, forgeting that you’re in LA. Luana goes above and beyond the proverbial call of duty and provides delicious homemade appetizers - then, the sleeves get rolled up and Luana walks you through how to handmake pasta. She takes the time to not only explain what to do, but why you’re doing it...she also taught us a few Italian words here and there. As a bonus, we were lucky enough to learn how to make two types of pasta. After you make the pasta, you sit down and enjoy the incredible meal. As far as taste, this is the real deal - Luana uses authentic, fresh, and even imported ingredients for her dishes. The only downside here is that you’ll probably never be able to go back to out-of-the-box pasta again. After we ate (both) of our pastas, Luana surprised us with a little dessert and cappuccino - this was the perfect cap to a perfect evening. Overall, would 10/10 recommend for a date night, group activity, educational experience, or whatever the occasion may be. Thank you Luana and can’t wait to come back for more.

I booked this class for my boyfriend's birthday celebration. We had such a great time making authentic pasta! We made everything from scratch and Chef Luana is the real deal from Italy. She and her husband showed us such warm hospitality and even created a romantic dining ambiance with fairy lights overlooking downtown LA from their residence. Making dinner takes time and preparation so I appreciated that Chef Luana provided us with appetizers in which she made beforehand and we got to sit down and eat those before we started preparing the pasta. Chef Luana is absolutely amazing! I couldn't ask for a better chef, a better teacher and better experience, it was hands down the best experience I have had since I moved to LA. She is so kind and genuine and is a master chef! I highly recommend Chef Luana and any class she offers! She spent 30+ years as a chef of her own restaurant in Italy, so she REALLY knows how to cook! I really didn't know what to expect as this was my first time doing a cooking class. My wife always wanted to learn how to make pasta and so I had booked this class as a surprise to my wife for her birthday. Upon arriving, Chef Luana had a nice surprise and greeted us with appetizers so we had something in our stomachs while we cooked. She was very entertaining and she took time teaching us how to make fresh pasta, carefully explaining each step. We enjoyed her stories of Italy and welcomed any questions we had. She served us two different types of pasta with two different sauces, both very delicious! The pasta was so fresh and light, it was amazing. Her home made recipes were exceptional and we were very happy. After our meals we were extremely full and very satisfied. Chef Luana surprised us with tiramisu as a nice special dessert. It was a nice touch and something extra that she didn't need to do but that was very thoughtful of her.
Overall, my wife and I really enjoyed learning how to make pasta with Chef Luana. We recommend her to anyone thinking about making fresh pasta. I would definitely book with her again in the near future.

Thoroughly enjoyed Fundamentals of Pasta Making with Chef Luana! She was so warm and welcoming, it felt like I was learning from family. Chef Luana greeted us with appetizers she had prepared for us. Not something I was expecting, so it was a nice surprise. She demystified an intimidating subject, demonstrating every step of the process and generously shared her ingredient sources. It was fun to create the pasta from scratch and practice her techniques under her watchful eye, and she nudged us in the right direction when we needed it. Of course, the best part of the evening was sitting down to eat our creations. Two types of pasta and two different sauces. Both delicious dishes that I feel confident I can recreate at home.

Wow! Chef Luana is a master of the cuisine of Central Italy. Her food was delicious, authentic, and she is such a warm and charming human being! Chef Luana's food was truly special! After much anticipation for Chef Luana's risotto cooking class, I left feeling cheated of both time and money. What was advertised as a hands-on culinary experience turned out to be little more than an uncomfortable sales pitch with minimal cooking involvement.
"Hands-on" apparently meant chopping an onion and dicing a pineapple. That's it. Nearly everything else was pre-prepared, leaving us as audience members rather than participants. I came expecting to learn techniques and timing for perfect risotto, but instead watched as Chef Luana worked with components she had already prepared before our arrival.
Most uncomfortable was the relentless self-promotion throughout the session. Rather than focusing on our learning experience, Chef Luana continuously pitched her various side businesses—offering to meal prep for us weekly, showcase her crochet work, and repeatedly suggesting she could cater our future events. At one point, she even suggested that we should consider a smaller wedding so that she and her friend could handle the catering! This unsolicited advice and constant selling created an awkward atmosphere that overshadowed any culinary instruction.
To make matters worse, Chef Luana repeatedly brought up tipping throughout the class, making awkward mentions of her Venmo account multiple times. The not-so-subtle hints about gratuity created additional tension in what was already an uncomfortable atmosphere. Being reminded about tips before we'd even finished the experience felt tactless and presumptuous. At the end she pointed at her venmo link that is printed out forcing you to tip.
The overall unprofessionalism was staggering. From the lack of preparation to the blatant business solicitation and tip-hunting, it felt less like a cooking class and more like being trapped in an extended infomercial.
Finally, Chef Luana didn't provide any written instructions or ingredient measurements for ANY of the dishes—making it impossible to recreate at home, which defeats the entire purpose of taking a cooking class.
Save your money and look elsewhere for cooking classes that actually teach you to cook.

I recently booked "The Rich Tradition of Risotto" with Chef Luana. The experience was a complete disappointment. The menu and the experience did not match at all. The appetizer was store bought arugula, burrata, and Parmesan. I did not get to choose the risotto. She picked mushroom and there was no truffle. The dessert was made with store bought jam One of which had mold, which she insisted was fine. I was rushed and belittled for the entire 1.5 hours when the class was advertised for 2.5 hours.
My class was scheduled for 6:30. I received a text message from chef at 6:08 including all the information to get to her apartment. By the time I was able to read how complicated it was to get there, it was already 6:20 since I was already on the way driving. While I can accept fault with not arriving sooner to find parking, I cannot accept the fact that all the information I needed was provided 22 minutes before the scheduled time. If I had known, I would have headed over earlier. I arrived to her apartment by 6:50. Although I was the only booking for the evening, she already started cooking the mushrooms for the risotto I didn’t get to choose the flavor of.
Appetizer was “Fresh Burrata With arugula and shaved Parmigiano Reggiano.†Burrata was out of a store bought container and arugula was from a store bought pre-washed bag. The only good thing was the Parmigiano she said was from Italy. It was a dish I could prepare on my own at home. Once we finished making the salad, we left it on the table for the remainder time we were cooking.
Entree was supposed to be “Homemade Italian Risotto†with the choice of “Mushrooms and black truffles†or “Shrimp and zucchini.†I had no choice. By the time I walked through the door, she was already cooking mushrooms. It was regular button mushrooms and dried porcini from Italy. On top of not being able to choose the type of risotto, there was no truffle.
Dessert was “Classic Crostatine Mini Italian pies made with homemade preserves.†Nothing was homemade about the preserves besides the thick layer of mold on top. She insisted that the jam was fine despite the clear layer of mold on top. She simply scooped it off and asked me if I still wanted that one or a different one. I politely asked for a different one and she brought out a new jar from her pantry.
Aside from the utter disappointment of a menu, the whole “cooking†experience was underwhelming. If I wanted to be belittled as I was taught a recipe, I would go home to my mother. Nothing was prepared beforehand. She hastily opened bags and new packages throughout the night. She was annoyed with every little thing and kept mentioning how she needed to clean. I understand the language barrier, but no instructions were given. There was no demonstration to follow. While rolling the crust for the crostatine, I was lectured because I rolled it too thin. She did not mention a thickness or what I’m rolling it for specifically. While cooking the risotto, she kept repeating how at a certain time we need to do what for the risotto as if we should know already. She did not explain what to look for when cooking, only belittling us for not being mind readers. She also kept taking the spatula out of my hand to do it herself. The repeating theme of the night was grabbing things out of my hand to do it herself. There was no room for error. When there was about 15 minutes left of the 30 minutes risotto recipe, she shooed us away to eat the appetizer that has been sitting on the table. She finished off the risotto and served it to us. The pie she baked it and served it to us. If I wanted to be served my dinner, I would go to a restaurant with better service and experience. We were shooed off by 8:30 as if we didn’t pay $200+ for an intimate 2.5 hour cooking class. For the left over food, she gave us a parchment paper to use to layer in between. It was the same parchment paper we used to roll out the raw dough made with raw egg.
I received no compensation for the experience. When CozyMeal asked chef about what I stated, she denied everything and said the preserves were homemade. Apparently she just made the exact same flavor as the store bought jars. Nothing was stated about the lack of truffles and the price point being far from what was advertised. She pushed me to write a review, here’s my review.

I was unable to find the apartment and I didn't think chef was helpful with directions. When I asked for refund she said I wasn't her fault. I just don't think it was very inclusive for someone who had to walk to get to this class

I had recently booked a cooking class with Chef Launa, on May 14th, 2023 for 11:30am via Cozymeals.
There are no words that describe how DEVASTATED, DISSATISFIED AND DISAPPOINTED I was when I walked out. I booked this class for my mom and I as a Mother’s Day present. Paying a total of $300 ($125/class + taxes and fees) for the tickets I thought it’s going to be a wonderful experience. I thought VERY WRONG. The pictures advertised look NOTHING like the kitchen we worked at. We went to a very small and dirty apartment with worn-out supplies. She barely allowed us to use supplies. I cut 1/2 of an old, soggy onion that had gone bad and she took the rest and put it in her freezer for later use….I’m paying $300 for this…
Once we made the pasta, she told us to sit down at the table to “take pictures†until she brings us appetizers. She brought a plate of bread with soggy tomatoes AND MOLDED ARTICHOKE PASTE ON IT! I WAS EATING THIS….i was so scared that I told my mom NOT to eat the artichoke without admitting what I had just seen.
When she brings out the pasta, half of it is cold, cut into small pieces and smushed. IT WAS NOT THE PASTA WE HAD JUST MADE. (I posted the pictures on yelp)) Not to mention it was 1/2of the serving…. What happened to the rest? I was shocked and asked to go watch how she makes the next batch. Once I entered the kitchen, the were NO signs that the pasta had been drained, no strainer. We were eating old pasta that she had brought out of her fridge and warmed up on the stove in a different pan that we were originally cooking in. I SAW the aluminum that was covering the pasta in the fridge)). I also saw her tasting it by putting it in her mouth with the spoon she was cooking with….
The next batch looked nothing like the first, since we were in the kitchen watching everything. I also saw the molded artichoke paste in her trash can. THIS WAS SO EMBARRASSING! I felt horrible not only for the experience but the fact that this was happening on Mother’s Day!!
Launa IS A SCAM, SAVE YOUR MONEY! ALL THESE REVIEWS ARE MADE UP!! I know for a fact because I was there on May 14th and there was no one named “Rebecca†(who has attended the class on May 14 and left a 5 star review) to be seen.

Although this was a nice experience, I don’t think my partner and I would do it again. The food was incredible and chef Luana did a great job authentically teaching us how to cook pasta from scratch, but there were a few misses. I’m a big proponent of being on time. I know LA on time standards varies and I’m flexible, but we arrived and waited 40 minutes to start. All the while Chef Luana greeted us by continuing to speak ill of a past guest that left her a negative review from the previous day. Kind of a vibe kill. The other couple arrived and we began and I almost felt like I had to bring up the vibe of the group. A 2 1/2 hour experience turned into 3 1/2 hours. We had plans for the Super Bowl after, so we ended up not even being able to stay for the end of the meal because it was running so behind. The pasta was plentiful, but the sauce for both pastas was on the skimpy end. For the price of the experience it felt a little underwhelming. All my best to the chef and I hope this honest review can be taken constructively and help her provide better for future guest.

This class was not what we expected. Upon exiting the elevators, there was huge blood stains on the walls. Chef Luana was welcoming upon entering, but we found her instruction style to be very harsh and impatient. While making pasta, instead of showing us what to do, she would grab the cooking utensils out of our hands and do it for us, which is not helpful for learning. The types of pasta we were making were not exactly what was advertised. Also, we learned we would not actually be eating the pasta we made, but instead everyones food would be combined together before serving. This was a big turn off for us! We wanted to eat the food we prepared, not everyone elses. She also wanted to split the class into two different groups, men and women, at one point. I attended this class to learn to cook pasta with my wife, not work with strangers. We ended up leaving halfway through the class, so i cannot comment on how the food turned out.
