Cooking Class - Classic Southern Brunch with Chef John

What You'll Do

Learn how to make all your favorite Southern breakfast classics with Chef John.

Chef John's travels to the South have allowed him to master the art of Southern cooking. In this class, you’ll learn how to apply the techniques he has learned in your own kitchen to make a hearty Southern breakfast.

A blend of sweet and savory are hallmarks of a classic Southern breakfast. On the sweet side, you’ll learn to make gooey praline monkey bread and roasted strawberry shortcakes. Sweet potato hash is the perfect side dish, and no Southern breakfast can be complete without classic Southern biscuits and homemade sausage with gravy.

Meet your chef

As a youngster, Chef John would skip school to make tomato soup and grilled cheese from scratch at home. Decades later, his passion for fresh food is just as strong as it ever was. He headed to college where he befriended and learned from chefs from the Caribbean, Southwest, Mexico and the South. Today, he travels to the Southwest and the South to discover new and exciting cooking techniques.
