Cooking Class - Villa Tuscana - Date Night

Chocolate tarts, chocolate truffles and double chocolate brownies. Chef was fantastic. It was a very enjoyable and informative learning experience. I will definitely look into future classes.

The Thai dinner. Learned to crush lemon grass when using it. Learned that I am working "too hard" when I'm chopping veggies. Enjoyable experience!

Knife skills class. It was great to learn new techniques that I can use at home. Chef Peter was great - funny, personable and an excellent teacher. I’m very happy with this experience!

The Chef was great and it was fun to cook with her.

We made chocolate croissants, caramelized leek and Gruyère pastries, and croissant dough. While I had dabbled in this type of baking, I really did not have a proper method. It was fun to learn the science behind the project as well as the details of creating a consistent, professional looking and tasting product. The instructor was knowledgeable, competent, interesting, and very pleasant to work with. Amy’s instructions, demonstrations, and interventions were helpful and done in a way that the teaching objectives were meet while maintaining a good rapport with the class. The process was fun and the finished product was very good. Thanks for a good experience. I will be replicating what I learned very soon.

Chef Jen was very good at explaining what we were doing, why we were doing it, and how to do it. We learned how to make 3 different French pastries and the dough to make the pastries. It was a good variety and introduction to French pastries.

The bread recipes were different and provided a good look at bread. We learned how to process bread in different forms, about proofing and allowing the yeast to act. I enoyed the class and the chef answered all questions during the class

Tape of three loaves was incredible! We’ll be making all 3 of the breads we made today again. This was our second class with chef Peter, and we’re excited to sign up for more.

It was a great class and all the chefs were really sweet, talented, and helpful. The evening class just felt rushed and not like a date despite the class being named that. We were done 30mins earlier than scheduled and I didn't have time to register any of the steps since we were moved along so quickly and at times was more a bit stressed rather than relaxed as I would hope to be on a date night.

Had a lovely time getting hands on with making pizzas! Appreciate the guidance and tips and tricks to bring that high quality pizza home. Chef Peter did a great job balancing kitchen protocols and 2 hour pretend chefs.

We had a fun evening cooking delicious food! Chef Julia made us feel welcome and did a great job explaining how to cook each portion of the meal. Scallops, Risotto and Souffle were all delicious!

It was so much fun & interactive. The food we cooked was delicious. The chef was nice and answered any questions we had. Only reason we rate it 4 stars is because for a group of 7 they only gave us 2 portions. Having an extra portion would have been nice so that we could all partake in the cooking process.

We had a fun time cooking! The food was excellent.

I enjoyed the class. The desserts were tasty. I had thought we were making all three recipes, but the chef ended up making one of them which was time-consuming. It might have been nicer to include one that wasn't as time-consuming so we could have three hands-on bakes. I have not received the recipes as yet, but since they were affected by the global IT outage, I'm not worried about that yet.

Great chef, great teacher! We had an amazing time and learned a lot. There’s something for everyone; Chef Peter is a natural teacher. My highest recommendation! Also, the delicious results didn’t hurt. ;)

Very fun and informative cooking class. So fun to get ideas from Chef Peter on how to use some of the ingredients we used in the recipes in other dishes. The cooking space was nice and roomy as well.

I had the pleasure of a Thai style meal with the Resident Chef. It was fun, educational, delicious and I had a good time meeting the couple at the same table. I learned how to make Phad Thai, a curry soup, and a steak salad. The chef was very engaging and making sure we were following directions while also encouraging us to find the right balance of the ingredients. People would ask " how much pepper to use?' and the reply was something like "add to your taste" , allowing us to creatively make the meal.

I had a great time and made some new friends. The holiday baking was delicious. Can’t wait to try the on my own

This was the first cooking class I have ever taken! It was very informative and I enjoyed the class. I will be taking more classes in the future.

We were really looking forward to this class and planned our evening around it, leaving work early and driving over an hour to attend. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told the class had been canceled. What made this especially frustrating was that we received a confirmation email about an hour before we left, so there was no indication anything had changed. The communication breakdown between the location and CozyMeal created a really disappointing experience. On-site, the representative was kind but unable to help with a refund or offer any real solution. We were told we would need to wait until someone returned from vacation to get assistance, which adds to the inconvenience after already losing time and travel. Overall, this felt poorly managed and left us with a lot of frustration for something that should have been a fun and seamless experience.

Our experience was decent overall, but a few adjustments could have significantly improved it. To start, it would have been helpful if the chef demonstrated each step of the cooking process before asking participants to complete it. Instead, demonstrations were done individually at each station, which led to extended downtime. During that time, some groups made assumptions—like how finely to chop vegetables or which course those ingredients go in—only to later learn they had done it incorrectly. A brief group demo before each step could have prevented confusion and kept things moving more smoothly. For the main pasta carbonara dish, we weren’t involved in key parts of the process, such as boiling the noodles, mixing the eggs and cheese, or cooking the bacon. These steps were completed for us without explanation of quantities or techniques, which made it difficult to understand how to recreate the dish at home. While I understand that time constraints may require some steps to be pre-prepared, it would have been nice to be more involved or at least receive guidance on how to replicate the dish ourselves. There was also a 30-minute break for shopping, which felt unnecessary since most attendees had already shopped beforehand or could have done so afterward. This break might have been more welcome if we hadn’t already experienced so much downtime waiting for instructions. Several participants asked for recipe details during the class, and we were told they would be emailed afterward. Unfortunately, that follow-up never happened. Without ingredient quantities or a written recipe, it’s hard to recreate the dishes we made. In previous Cozymeal classes I’ve attended, chefs shared background on the dishes—such as cultural context, ingredient history, or cooking tips and tricks. That kind of insight adds a lot of value and depth to the experience. This class didn’t include any of that, which made it feel more surface-level than others. Lastly, we noticed that most of the leftovers were given to staff rather than participants. Given the cost of the class (over $100 per person), it would have been appreciated if guests had the option to take home their own portions.

We didn't have Chef Peter. The young lady who was our teacher tried very hard to handle 16 people cooking in a space that could handle 10-12 . I understand this is a profit making business, but because we were jammed together, we were jockeying for position the entire night. We weren't there to team build as we 9 others, we were there to have a cooking lesson. We were crowded, and with no recipes printed out for us, we were flying blind most of the night. Recipes should be available during the class, not emailed to you later....which by the way I have still not gotten. One of the main reasons we took the class was for the gelato part of the lesson. Instead it was already premade and she told us we'd get the recipes later. We had to ask how it was made, she ran thru it super quickly and none of us felt we got what we needed. We were rushed, then they took a 15 min break in the middle....which would have been the perfect time to demonstrate the gelato recipe and serve the premade batch at the end, but instead we were told to go look around the store and "shop" while they cleaned up.Because we needed to be finished by 9 and going out the door, it gave very little time, esp for such a big group, to ask questions. Our food was good, but I felt like we paid to make our own dinner......yes i did learn something, but I don't think it was worth the money. I won't be signing up for a class at that location again.

We didn’t any one named Peter. The resident chef was really nice so look confusing not everything was prepared. The tiramisu was horrible. I recommend you guys figure out a different recipe. I really enjoyed the class. The president has the people who are helping the chef are really nice. I have recommended this class to my daughter and I’m sure she’ll be booking something

Chef Peter was not our chef this night. Our chef casually mentioned having prepared one of the dishes only once before, and one would expect the lead of the class to have a bit more expertise than a singular attempt. I enjoyed each dish and have good memories from the class, but the instruction was tasteless.

Most of the class was focused on seeing the demo of the dishes being made. It would have been nice to make one complete dish by ourselves so we could make it at home - for example, pad Thai noodles were made by us but pad Thai sauce was made by chef. It would have been nice to know how to make a complete dish by ourselves.

I suppose I was expecting to have more time to learn about the pasta making. By dividing into groups and not providing the recipe, it felt quite rushed. I wish cozymeal would offer more classes that are in depth over date night excursions.

Not quite as expected, including no Chef Peter. While the evening was fun and we learned some things, the Chef and the kitchen were disorganized with recipes, equipment, etc.

Class was canceled without notice. Was told after we arrived that all participants had been notified and refunded but that was definitely not the case.

It was not Chef Peter. It felt haphazard and not well prepared or planned. For the amount of money I spent, I’m honestly disappointed.
