Cooking Class - Thai Favorites With a Vegan Twist
$ 125 Per person
all-inclusive: 3-hour class, 4-course meal.
Being vegan doesn’t mean you have to give up your favorite Thai foods.
Make your favorite Thai food vegan in this engaging cooking class led by Chef Chris. You'll learn how to master the flavors of Thai cuisine using fresh ingredients.
Chef Chris will start by teaching you how to create a vegan fish sauce from scratch. You'll whip up a refreshing green papaya salad with lime and spicy chilies before preparing a wonderfully creamy coconut curry with seasoned tofu and a mix of fresh spices. Finally, learn how to master a popular dessert: Sweet mango sticky rice with coconut and brown sugar.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
Vegan Fish Sauce
With seaweed, soy sauce, miso and dried shiitake mushrooms
Green Papaya Salad
With lime juice, chilies, peanuts, carrots, brown sugar, garlic and cilantro
Red Coconut Curry With Seasoned Tofu
With lemongrass, galangal, chilies, kaffir lime, cilantro and firm tofu
Sweet Sticky Rice With Mango
With coconut cream, coconut milk, brown sugar, mango and lime zest

After discovering his passion for cooking as an Italian language instructor at UC Berkeley, Chef Chris went on to be the co-founder of a culinary event business, specializing in regional Italian cooking, and then worked as a chef teaching cooking classes for corporate groups, cultivating a 5-star rating. Chef Chris now works with a company providing walking food tours of Little Italy as well as teaching his lauded cooking classes.
