In a pint glass, pour the cold Japanese beer until the beer is higher than the height of the sake glass. Fill the sake glass with the warmed or cold sake. (See notes 3.)
Place two flat chopsticks on top of the pint glass, just wide enough for the sake glass to sit. (See notes 4.)
Chant “Sake, sake, sake bomb!”. On the word “bomb” hit your fist against the table causing the table to shake and the sake glass to tip into the pint glass. Serve immediately. Enjoy! (See notes 5.)
Notes:
- Asahi, Kirin or Sapporo are popular Japanese beers.
- Using warmed sake will have an interesting effect as you consume both warm and cold beverages at the same time.
- Because the sake becomes diluted in beer, avoid using premium sake.
- Do not place the chopsticks too close together, or the glass will not drop in immediately.
- Do not drop the shot glass too high or the glass will shatter. The point is to make a bit of a splash for a fun effect.
