Ingredients
Directions 6 steps | 20 Minutes
Preheat the air fryer to 375°F. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the egg.
Add the breadcrumbs, almond flour, red bell pepper, cilantro or parsley, garlic powder, pepper, salt and turkey. (See notes.)
Using your hands, mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated. Divide the turkey mixture into four equal portions and shape them into patties. (See notes.)
Spray the inside of the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray. Place the turkey burgers in the basket, making sure they do not overlap. Fry in batches if the burgers are too large for the air fryer. Air fry the turkey burgers for 6 minutes. Flip the burgers and fry for another 6 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the burger reaches at least 165°F.
If topping the burgers with cheese, add one slice of cheese on each burger patty and air fry until the cheese is melted, about 1 minute.
Assemble the burgers with the burger buns, red onion, tomato, lettuce and the turkey patty. Enjoy warm with a side of fries.
Notes:
- To make the recipe low-carb and gluten free, replace all of the breadcrumbs with almond flour and serve the air fryer turkey burgers on top of a bed of greens or a lettuce wrap.
- If you have a nut allergy, replace the almond flour with breadcrumbs.
- To make sliders, divide the patties into 8-10 portions and air fry for 3-4 minutes on each side. Place on slider buns and serve.
