Preheat the oven to 350°F degrees and measure and prep all ingredients.
In a large bowl, combine butter and sugar and cream together using an electric handheld whisk until fluffy and lightened. Add in the eggs, one at a time, beating well between each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
Add in the chocolate sauce or Nutella and whisk until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and salt. Fold the flour mixture into the chocolate batter in two additions, mixing until completely combined.
Grease a 13×9-inch baking pan and pour in the brownie batter. Transfer to the oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out mostly clean (a few crumbs are okay). Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
While the brownies are cooking, make the strawberry and ganache toppings. For the strawberry buttercream, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add the strawberry jam and mix until combined. Spread the cooled brownies with the strawberry topping and refrigerate until the topping is firm.
Next, make the chocolate ganache. Melt the chocolate and butter together over a bain-marie. Stir until completely blended and smooth. Cool the ganache for at least 20 minutes. The ganache should still be a pourable consistency but not hot, as it will melt the buttercream layer. Spread the ganache on top of the strawberry layer and return to the refrigerator. Chill until the ganache layer is set, but not too hard.
Cut the strawberry brownies into squares and top each brownie with a fresh strawberry. Enjoy!
