Chef Amanda adds a modern, sophisticated twist to Southern cooking classics.

Join Chef Amanda for this innovative class in modern Southern cooking, full of new recipes and classic flavors. In this class, guests will learn how to take Southern favorites up a notch with excellent gourmet ingredients and professional techniques.

In this class you will make four decadent dishes, including a savory shrimp and grits — a Southern classic. For your other courses, Chef Amanda will teach you how to perfect a crab and sherry soup, and you will end the class with a delightful Huguenot torte. This class is a perfect introduction to upscale Southern cooking for anyone who wants to spice up their home-cooking repertoire.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Amanda is a culinary artist who’s also passionate about local produce. After graduating Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, she attended restaurant business school in Australia before moving just outside of Athens, Georgia to farm and grow sustainable vegetables, fruits and flowers. Chef Amanda has spent time as a cooking coach for a major grocery store chain, has taught cooking classes and currently teaches at Salud Cooking School.
