WHAT YOU’LL DO

Strengthen your bread-making skills with guided instruction.

Learn the art of homemade baking in this hands-on cooking class in Raleigh. Start by preparing roasted squash, sage and ricotta focaccia, then bake rustic French bread in a Dutch oven for that perfect crust. Youâ€™ll also make salted butter completely from scratch to pair with your fresh loaves. Chef Megan or a resident chef will guide you step by step, sharing simple tips for kneading, proofing and baking. This cooking class in Raleigh is perfect for bread lovers who enjoy practical, satisfying kitchen projects.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

Chef Daniel was such a fun and engaging chef! We had a great time and learned a lot even in such a short amount of time.

My husband and I wanted to do a cooking class for our 10th anniversary. We love sushi so when I saw Sur la table offered one we were so excited. We took a pasta making class together in Italy and I took a baking class back in NY. We were hoping for the same experience but it didnâ€™t even come close. The â€œChefâ€ was at another table with our backs to him, he was confused about what we were making, he left us to try and figure it out on our own and only as a last option did he come over to help. He seemed more interested in the sales pitch to take more classes and shop than teaching us how to make sushi. Our class only had 4 people because 2 people didnâ€™t show up, so you would think we would have gotten more one on one teaching. Wrong. He was more concerned about the class coming in after us. We ran out of tuna but he had all the tuna at his station that he made plus what the 2 people that didnâ€™t show up would have used but he didnâ€™t want to let us use any of it saying this is for the next classâ€¦ He never showed us how to make the traditional sushi roll with the rice on the outside he just talked about it. We never received the email that had the recipes and directions either. When we booked this they talked about a chef with over 20 years experience. We got a kid who â€œhas worked in restaurants and went to culinary school and has been teaching classes for a year.â€
