Chef Ryan has studied varied cuisines and was trained in baking and pastry at the Ritz Carlton. He has held titles such as pastry chef at Chez TJ, which held two Michelin stars, and as chef de cuisine at Baume Restaurant, which also earned two Michelin stars during his time there. His dishes are founded in comfort, thanks to his Italian heritage, and imbued with grace thanks to his classical French training.

Chef Ryan's donut making class was SO fun! We not only learned how to make three different types of donuts and the methodology behind each type of dough, but we also got to be hands on making them and decorating them ourselves. I would say that our donuts being consumed in less than 30 seconds speaks for just how great they were! If you are looking for a fun interactive class be sure to take this one.

Great introduction to the science of pasta and the landscape of things you can do with 4 ingredients. We got to explore color and texture and make 3 very different pastas (and 3 meals worth of food) in the 2-hour session. Definitely recommended.

We loved the class, very informative with the right amount of work done for you mixed with hands on aspects. Tons of donuts, went home full with a to go box as well. Ryan was awesome and clearly knows what he's doing in terms of making donuts and running classes. I'll be recommending to friends and family for sure!

Amazing! Chef Ryan was so authentic and kind. His passion for teaching and food shows in a really comfortable and genuine way. You can tell that he really cares about what he does. This was my first Cozymeal class and was initially fearful that I'd mess everything up but Chef Ryan's approach in teaching made me feel that I can try making any of these dishes at home. My boyfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed his class and have already recommended others to take this class :)

Fun class. Especially enjoyed learning more some tips and tricks for choux pastry. Majority of class hands-on is cutting and frying. You're also free to experiment with your flavor combos, which is fun. Prepare to take home a lot of donuts!

Chef Ryan was great! My husband and I have made pasta before, but nothing ever turned out like the meals we ate during this class. It was a good balance of leaning, watching, and doing. This class is great for people of all cooking levels - nothing is too challenging. It was also fun to bring your own bottle of wine and chat with everyone around you. I highly recommend the class and look forward to taking more through Cozymeal.

This was a class that I booked for my pasta-loving husband. We had previously tried making pasta at home following recipes, but always never knew if the results we were getting were consistent with the end goals of the recipe. Chef Ryan was welcoming and patient, and he taught us three great doughs, and ways to shape them with or without equipment. He was also quick to answer all our questions, and even did a small demonstration to show us what he was talking about when mixing pasta by hand. Looking forward to testing out our new found knowledge in our kitchen!

We loved our Cozymeal experience with Chef Ryan. My wife and I attended along with 6 other guests. It lasted 2.5 or 3 hours and we made 3 different dishes. It was a really nice space and fit the 8 people who attended very comfortably. There was a good amount of participation and we learned a lot about some pretty unique pastas. Chef Ryan was extremely knowledgable and had some cool stories to share about Italian pasta legends :) The food was incredibly delicious. It was BYOW (wine) which was cool. Over the past couple of years, I've been to 5 or 6 cooking classes at various venues (not through Cozymeal), and this was by far the best one.

First off the 3 stars I gave to the course by no means represents Chef Ryan's knowledge in donut making. He was knowledgeable, funny, and a good teacher. The reason for the 3 star rating is because I found for myself in taking cooking classes I learn best when I actually get to make the recipe. I think because the location was smaller each student couldn't physically have a mixer and work with his/her own ingredients. So we watch Chef Ryan prepare all the doughs and listened to his expertise. The only physical thing we really did was fry our own donuts and glaze them. Because there were two friers and 9 students I was busy frying when Chef Ryan was showing the group how to make some of the glazes, which I was sad about. I feel that for the type of class that was offered and the little about of 'baking' I actually got to do I don't think I overpaid. I was still happy I got eat donuts though!!

Chef Ryan was great! We enjoyed the three pastas he taught us in the Advanced Pasta Making Class. Our favorites were the pea green strascinati and tomato soppressini...really delicious fresh pastas. All in all, an enjoyable experience with a small cozy group. Thanks, Chef!

An excellent class! I bake quite a bit, but have never really explored the world of donuts. Chef Ryan made them approachable by going step by step through three different ways of making donuts. Not to mention they were delicious! I would definitely recommend for any level of expertise :)

Chef Ryan is a rockstar. I gave this class to my boyfriend for Christmas and had no idea what to expect. Needless to say, we were blown away not only by how good the food ended up being, but how great of a teacher Chef Ryan was and how hilarious he is! We really enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to try another of his classes AND to visit his new pasta shop on Fillmore.

Had an amazing class with Chef Ryan this weekend! Met some amazing people and above all, learnt to make yummy donuts! Chef Ryan explained the process in detail, along with technical reasons behind why we do things a certain way. The class is pretty hands on - we had a lot of fun making the donuts and then eating them! I highly recommend this class! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed this class. Chef Ryan taught us how to make some really delicious pastas and made the session fun and with very tasty mini meals at the end! Pasta is easier than I realized and we will be trying to replicate these recipes as often as we can! Would highly recommend.

Took my mom as a Christmas present in addition to the pasta maker I bought her. Sooooo glad I did! It was the perfect gift and we both had so much fun. Learned so much and all the pasta was DELICIOUS. Chef Ryan is super personable and helpful - highly recommend. Just had the best time.

I had a fantastic time. Chef Ryan was incredibly inviting and was equally knowledgeable when it came to the pasta making. You could tell that he enjoyed what he was doing and that helped make our dinner one of the best meals I’ve had all year. It didn’t hurt that the food was awesome, too :)

Loved the experience. While I do wish there was more hands-on things to do in the class, learning how to make pasta was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday early afternoon with my boyfriend (it was a surprise Christmas gift/date for us both). Chef Ryan is funny, chill, and down to earth. I liked the vibe he set out, and the 2.5 hours breezed by. And my goodness, the FOOD. My favorite from the menu was the Strascinati "Guisantes" (with pea green strascinati pasta) – holy sh*t, lemon marscapone paired with the bright greens made this party in my mouth that left my jaw hanging. Freshest, tastiest pasta dish I've tasted that I can proudly say I contributed to with my own two hands! Hoping to take more of his classes down the line. :) Thanks, Chef Ryan!

Our cooking class with Chef Ryan was absolutely amazing! He was an incredible chef as well as an amazing person. He was extremely friendly, a great teacher, and so helpful helping us cook as well as answering all of our questions (and I had a lot!). The pastas we made were so delicious, I cannot wait to try to cook these at home. We all left feeling like we learned a lot and could take our skills back to our own kitchen. I would HIGHLY recommend this class and particularly Chef Ryan to anyone!

Ryan is a very knowledgeable pasta chef and mixed an interactive style of explaining/executing the difficult processes with an engaging description of how each step should be done. Chef Ryan was awesome! Explained the process of donut and churro making down to a T. Would definitely recommend this class to friends without a doubt. Only feedback I have is reducing the class size, there was 10 of us which is made it a little hectic at times, also would would more hands on tasks!

Chef Ryan was amazing! We lucked out and it was just me and my boyfriend so we got a very personal experience. The pasta was great and he showed us how easy it really is to make! Creative food - not just your average spaghetti! Chef Ryan is friendly, very knowledgeable, informal and approachable. He seemed to really enjoy answering our questions and engaging in conversations on a wide variety of subjects. The small group was wonderful, and the venue lots of fun. We had an amazing time celebrating my friend's birthday. Chef Ryan was very informative and well educated in the dynamics of creating delicious donuts and churros. He answered our questions and encouraged our 'creative minds.' We created our own designs, which was great as there were creative talents in our group. My boyfriend loved the mochi-like donut as it was very similar to dinner rolls and certain Chinese bakery breads. We had plenty of donuts at the end, which we happily packaged away in togo boxes. Recipe printouts and water were provided, but if you prefer other drinks, feel free to bring your own. For those who prefer protein for food and/or get 'hangry' easily, I recommend eating a snack before class. Enjoy!

Chef Ryan was amazing! We lucked out and had a very intimate group (just Ryan, myself, and my best friend). The pasta was SO AMAZING. Especially the homemade rabbit sausage the chef had ready for the class. We'll be taking more classes with Ryan!

We have taken cooking classes all over the world taking cooking classes and this is one of the best we have taken. We absolutely loved his Advanced Italian 2. We learned new tips on pasta and sauce making and really enjoyed Chef Ryan and will dig. Up for another one of his classes on our next trip to San Francisco!

Very knowledgeable, and patient with new students. I feel now empowered to make pasta, and even the more difficult pasta shapes are demystified and now achievable for me. He not only taught us about technique but also about a little food science behind semolina, acorn, and all purpose flours. And the food was delicious!

He'll give you insider tips about your favorite doughnuts out there. There was enough for our class of 9 to make doughnuts to eat and even take home. Plenty hands-on and creative opportunities in this class. He knows plenty cool things so ask your questions for sure.

Chef Ryan was an incredibly great teacher and host. I did this class with 4 other of my family members and another couple that was there. Chef Ryan was very personable and did a perfect job making us feel welcome and able to ask questions. He was very engaging and fun - it far surpassed experiences I've had with chefs not associated with Cozymeal. I give this my highest recommendation. Oh, and the food was INCREDIBLE

Chef Ryan was awesome! He was incredibly friendly, responsive to questions, and knowledgable of his craft. There were lots of couples at our class, and I think everyone left thinking this was a lovely (and delicious) date night. We especially appreciated that Chef Ryan showed us how to prepare some less common dough recipes and pasta shapes. One note: even though the title of the class is "Advance Pasta Making", my date and I went in without any previous pasta making experience and were completely fine.

Chef Ryan is truly skilled at teaching the craft of donut making. He has all of the equipment and tools needed for hands-on training. Method is clearly taught and learning was a lot of fun. I don't know if I'll challenge myself to want a store bought donut now that I know that I can make better ones at home.

It was an absolutely fantastic experience. Chef Ryan is extremely talented and is also able to explain the what and why of the whole process. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone looking to make (and eat!) some amazing donuts.

We did this class for my brother's 30th bday and it was a blast. We will definitely be doing Chef Ryan's other classes, and may even do this class again when we have family in town. Chef Ryan makes sure that you're learning from him, but also are having a hands on experience making the donuts. We loved that he explained all the science behind his recipes. Can't recommend this class enough!

Chef Ryan was great! He was very informative and had great background stories for all the pasta's, Italy, and food in general. He broke everything down easy to understand, and made my girlfriend and I feel like pasta chefs. The food was delicious and really enjoyed every plate. So happy with the service and the night. Have already recommended to many friends.

Chef Ryan was an excellent person for our group to look to cook from. We had a party of 6 and it was a surprise birthday party for my fiance. I was a little anxious as to how the night was going to turn out but everybody had a great time! He was very accommodating to all our needs and everyone of us got to make pasta. The pasta dishes were all delicious as well. Don't hesitate to book this chef for your event!

Chef Ryan's class was a birthday treat for my boyfriend, and we had a fun time making donuts and churros. We learned some science and techniques behind the dough as Ryan demonstrated, then got to shape, fry, and glaze the treats ourselves. We took a big box home and ate them for breakfast the next three days :)

Overall great experience. One feedback, it would have been nice if he were more friendly and approachable. He seemed to pick his favorites and was unfortunately not as nice to the rest. I thanked him before leaving and only got a staring glare. This was actually for my birthday so it just would have been a nicer experience if he weren't so unapproachable to the people he perhaps didn't like as much.

I was particularly pleased with the explanation of the science behind it all. The one downside was the size of the class (which is the only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5). 10 was too many for the space. Other than that...excellent class.

Our class with Chef Ryan was fantastic! He explained the process, demonstrated techniques, then assisted guests as they needed. All of the guests had a great time and learned some new techniques. Chef Ryan was very helpful in all aspects of the presentation. He was very informative and from a beginner's point of view, it was not difficult to learn the material at all. A great class covering some unusual pasta shapes - Chef Ryan explained the combination of the sauces with the pastas and taught us some great techniques and tips for making pasta ourselves! Highly recommend a pasta class with him.

Incredibly well paced in its execution. Chef Ryan was seriously the best. You could tell he really thought it all out, knowing when to have us watch him, and when to let us take ownership. It was just an all around fun, insightful, and interesting experience. Highly recommend to anyone considering taking this course.

My girlfriend and I really enjoyed chef Ryan's class. We're not the most fantastic cooks but Ryan showed us that making fresh pasta is not something to stress over. The dishes we created had fantastic flavor combinations and this is something we can definitely make at home. The kitchen atmosphere was great. Ryan and his fiancee Madison are such great company to cook, eat and talk with. Thank you for such a marvelous experience - my girlfriend said "this was one of the best gifts". Looking forward to when Ryan opens his restaurant and we'll make sure to take one another one of his classes!

I loved making those donuts :) Thanks for the great instruction!!! Maybe it would be better to distribute the boxes at the end? I feel like people might start hoarding donuts a little too early if you provide them boxes before we begin. Missed the chance to make more brioche donuts since there was so little ready-dough left. Thanks :)

This was such a fun evening. Ryan is a very cool person, low key and friendly - not at all pretentious. Our class was very informative and fun, we learned some great pasta techniques and had a chance to use some ingredients and equipment we don't normally use. We did have a little problem getting to the right location at first, apparently Cozymeal didn't provide the correct address to us - but it was fortunately quickly rectified - and the kitchen experience was a trip! We did bring our own wine, which added to the fun. Thanks very much, Ryan, we look forward to another cooking and dining experience with you.

I enjoyed the class very much. My only issues were that we had to wait for a large group who were 30 minutes late, and then that large group seemed to take over when it came time for participation in cooking.

It was truly a treat to spend the afternoon with Chef Ryan. While most people will be able to explain what ingredients to use and proper cooking technique, Chef Ryan goes in to great detail about why you do things a certain way in the kitchen. He'll explain the chemistry behind the process, and why it results in something desirable. Even if that isn't something that piques your interest, the end product was always absolutely delicious. Can't recommend him enough.

Chef Ryan is a good teacher and makes delicious pasta. Much of the class aside from the actual pasta making was demonstrations of making sauce, and I learned a lot from his cooking and describing the importance and rationale behind each step. The end result was delicious; creative in flavor yet attainable for an amateur chef in terms of technique. My wife loved this class as a birthday gift and we are inspired to make pasta at home. Highly recommended.

We had a great time learning to make donuts with Chef Ryan! He started by showing us how to make different types of dough and explained their different uses. Then we got to get our hands dirty. The class really went above and beyond the description as Chef Ryan was always available to answer questions and try out new ideas, such as making a crueller or a buttermilk donut. There was more than enough to go around for our class of eight, and everyone went home with a box filled with donuts and churros.

We had a great time at Chef Ryan's Pasta Class! The class size was perfect -- large enough to enjoy the social aspect but small enough that it felt like an intimate & hands-on experience -- and the recipes were delicious. Ryan did a great job balancing the informative & demo-like aspects of the class with hands-on participation, and it was a lot of fun working in a commercial kitchen space. Definitely recommend this class for all pasta lovers!

I gave this class as a holiday gift to my boyfriend, and we really enjoyed our evening with Chef Ryan. There were seven of us in total in the class with a range of ages and cooking background, and he was able to cater to everyone's questions and skill level. We brought a bottle of wine to enjoy while we cooked and it was just a perfect, chill Thursday night - highly recommend for other couples or even singles looking to meet people.

Had an amazing time with Chef Ryan and his fiancГ©e! We came here as our holiday party and they made us feel very welcome. It was a great time! Can't recommend it enough. Not only fun, but also everything we made was SO DELICIOUS. The crew thanked me all night for setting up this event. We were a little shy at first but everyone got into it and had such a great time. I feel like we definitely got our monies worth. You have an amazing professional chef teaching you his tips for these delicious dishes, and then they did PLATING with us! Do yourself a favor, treat yourself to this class. It was worth every penny :) Thanks for being so nice to us!

My Cozymeal class with Ryan was amazing! Ryan was incredibly knowledgeable about the science, practical application, and the creative plating of all the tasty doughnuts we made. He could easily switch between entertaining stories of what it was like to be a pastry chef at a 2 Michelin star restaurant and the snap-back of gluten matrices – all while showing me what made the perfect pate a choux dough! It was a real pleasure to work with Ryan and I’ll definitely be taking another one of his classes in the future.
