Nourish your body and soul with this class focused on comfort food from the Southern tradition.
Create a classic three-course soul food spread in this hands-on cooking class with Chef Vanessa. You'll discover a bounty of authentic flavors as you learn how to prepare these traditional recipes completely from scratch.
You'll enjoy a complimentary cheese board and other refreshments as you whip up Tabasco deviled eggs peppered with crispy bacon and a succotash entrГ©e featuring black-eyed peas and seasonal vegetables. Then, prepare collard greens with country ham, and traditional hand pies filled with seasonal berries or stone fruit for dessert.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

I had a great time working with Chef Vanessa. She has a lot of experience teaching classes and she did a great job explaining the process and techniques throughout our time together. She puts an emphasis on making cooking easier and more intuitive and after working with her I definitely feel like I am more comfortable in the kitchen. Her food is super fun and she's so friendly. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area!
Meet your chef
Chef Vanessa is a distinguished pastry chef, entrepreneur and holistic chef with more than 20 years of professional culinary experience. After beginning her career as a pastry apprentice in NYC, Chef Vanessa went on to become a successful wedding cake designer. She also specializes in farm-to-table cuisine and zero-waste cooking, and currently runs her own business offering interactive culinary experiences.
