A world of authentic Afro-Caribbean recipes await you in this interactive hands-on cooking class with Chef Vanessa. Learn all about its rich culinary heritage as you prepare a feast brimming with tradition.

Indulge in a complimentary cheese board and tropical mocktails as you create three sauce staples — sofrito, mojo and pique — then prepare your choice of meat or vegetable empanadas as an appetizer. Next, make your entrée with garlic chicken or tofu served with mojo, and rice and beans on the side. Finish up with authentic coconut tres leches corn cake for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

After beginning her career as a pastry apprentice in NYC, Chef Vanessa went on to become a successful wedding cake designer. She also specializes in farm-to-table cuisine and zero-waste cooking, and currently runs her own business offering interactive culinary experiences.

I had a great time working with Chef Vanessa. She has a lot of experience teaching classes and she did a great job explaining the process and techniques throughout our time together. She puts an emphasis on making cooking easier and more intuitive and after working with her I definitely feel like I am more comfortable in the kitchen. Her food is super fun and she's so friendly. I would highly recommend her to anyone in the area!
