Learn the fundamentals of making the flour-and-water pastas of Southern Italy with Chef Meryl.
Unlike the egg pasta of Northern Italy, pasta from Southern Italy is made using only water and flour, then molded into shapes that only require your hands and a butter knife. Chef Meryl will teach you all the techniques you need to master this at home!
Begin the hands-on class with a twist on classic panzanella salad with added pickled vegetables, toasted sourdough bread, and tangy sheep's milk feta. Next, learn how to properly form orecchiette pasta that will be served with roasted garlic, baby broccoli and Calabrian chillies. Finally, you'll handcraft cavatelli pasta served with pesto.
Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
