What You’ll Do

Chef Fumiko will teach you how to veganize Japanese favorites.

Japanese cuisine relies heavily on fresh vegetables, fruit and rice, which makes it perfect for a vegan transformation. Sharpen your knife skills in this hands-on experience featuring plant-based fare from soup to dessert.

Learn how to make a classic miso soup with fried tofu and vegetables, followed by a daikon and carrot salad and vegan chirashi sushi made with carrots, green beans, shiitake mushrooms and pickled daikon radishes. For the entrГ©e, you'll braise tofu and eggplant with teriyaki sauce, then focus your attention on dessert: Almond milk gelГ©e with grapes, oranges and peaches.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.
