Cooking Class - Tacos Two Ways

What You’ll Do

Take your taco game to the next level in this interactive class with Chef Jacob.

It's nearly impossible to resist a homemade taco, but it's harder still when that taco features juicy cuts of meat and the freshest toppings. Under Chef Jacob's guidance, you'll learn two popular techniques for preparing meat for tacos, along with how to use toppings to balance flavors.

Drawing from Tex-Mex traditions, Chef Jacob will first show you how to prepare roasted vegetable salsa. Next, you'll tackle carne asada tacos, which feature beef cooked fast and hot. In contrast, the second set of tacos focuses on slow-cooked pulled pork. Finish with Mexican wedding cookies rolled in powdered sugar.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Had a great time with Chef Jacob in his San Mateo home! He's friendly, personable and loves to teach... which he's very good at! He gives simple and clear instructions and can even talk to you about the scientific processes that's going on in the food to the history of an ingredient or dish. We got our hands dirty and made delicious farfalle al pomodoro. Such a simple dish with few ingredients yet it tasted rich and satiating! The sauce was just the right balance of tangy and sweet and the pasta was wonderfully soft and delicious! I also got to try some of his pulled pork tacos which were hearty and satisfying! His take on Mexican wedding cakes were sweet, chewy and the addition of pumpkin seeds gave it a whole other texture and flavor! Chef Jacob specializes in "comfort food" from all cultures and cuisines and I'm positive there's something in his kitchen that will satisfy your cravings. Highly recommended!

Chef Jacob made us feel relaxed and we had fun learning to make Sushi. We also learned about the history & some knife techniques to help make the prefect side dish and sushi rolls. He sent us home with his recipes. We’re exited to impress our friends and family with our new Sushi skills.
