Cooking Class - A Street Food Tour of Tokyo

What You’ll Do

Let Chef Madeline show you how to recreate the original fast food of Japan.

From stir-fried dumplings to tiny pastries, street food is a treasured tradition in Japan, and Chef Madeline will show you how to recreate these favorites at home.

In this class, you'll learn how to make gyoza, from the wrappers to the sauce. Then move on to onigiri, or rice balls stuffed with meat and seaweed. Street food isn't just savory; it's sweet, too. You'll also learn to make dango, which are similar to the mochi confections sold at Asian restaurants. Another sweet treat you'll make is pocky, thin biscuits dipped in luscious chocolate.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Madeline is a great host and a wonderful chef. Her class was so much fun. Her honey glazed roast pork and tiramisu topped with chocolate flakes are delicious. I learned how to make a dish called onigiri. It's made to be shaped to any form you want which can make it fun!
