Booked the class Modern Asian Fusion with Chef Derrick

Chef Derrick was wonderful! He had prepared a four course menu and was more than happy to accommodate requested changes (including the primary meat to switch out the main course!). We cooked an Asian fusion meal, which included scallion pancakes, Singaporean noodles, chicken satay, and mango sticky rice. The food was AMAZINGLY good, and the experience even better! Chef Derrick was patient, relaxed, and very comfortable to be around as we all cooked. He took the lead as needed and answered all sorts of questions , making for lively cooking conversation. He also made so much food - enough for others to join our three-person cooking party and still more to take home. I can't recommend the experience enough.

Booked the class Signature French Dishes with Chef Derrick

Chef Derrick was on time, friendly, and made good food. Overall we did this as an experience to celebrate a friend's 39th birthday. I should have communicated better, but I am used to cooking classes being hands on and assumed they were all the same. It ended up being Chef Derrick preparing everything and explaining while he does it. There was 3 of us ladies total and about 10 min into the session we ended up sitting on the couch chit chatting and drinking wine while Chef Derrick became our personal chef for the evening. It ended up being great in an unexpected way. I do recommend for anyone who is set on wanting a more hand on experience to communicate this expectation when working with Chef Derrick. We also had a small kitchen space and apartment so maybe that played a roll as well.

My husband and I were gifted a Cozymeal gift card and decided to put it toward a private chef experience. Chef Derrick cooked a beautiful meal for us. The steaks were huge and flavorful, the avocado fries were crispy and the side dishes were all tasty. It was our first time trying potatoes terrine and we liked the way he prepared this particular side dish. Our dinner was very gourmet and Chef Derrick was professional, easy to make conversation with and he even let my toddler snack on some of the ingredients while he was cooking. We enjoyed leftovers the next day because there was so much food!! Thank you Chef Derrick for a memorable Valentine's Day.

OMG - Wonderful! We enjoyed the experience with another couple. We knew it would be fun but were not prepared for how exquisite the food would taste. To have someone of Chef Derrickâ€™s pedigree come to our house and prepare that meal on a Saturday night was a total privilege. It is only due to his unique (and impressive) day job as an executive chef that he would be available. We learned so many cooking tips too. Plus Derrick has a wonderful, polite and humble personality.

We enjoyed our evening with Chef Derrick very much. Derrick was very personable and explained the French Cuisine dinner from the prep to the cooking to the plating very well. Giving us useful tips along the way for even our everyday cooking. The dinner itself was very tasteful and satisfying. Chef Derrick brought everything to our kitchen from all the food to everything to cook it with. Looking forward to recreating the dish in the future, but probably not as well as Chef Derrick. Next time when we invite Chef Derrick over we'll have some friends join us. Thanks Cozymeal and Chef Derrick!!
