How much should I tip my private chef?
The amount that you offer as a tip is entirely down to your discretion. However, please note that when you enlist the help of an in-home chef, you’re under no obligation whatsoever to give one. Your chef will be glad to deliver an indulgent dining experience to you and your guests, regardless of whether you offer a tip at the end of the evening.
If you’d like to give one, great! It’s a lovely way to thank your chef, one for which they’re sure to be grateful. Again, the amount that you give is up to you, but if you’re unsure, we usually recommend between 10% and 25% of the total experience cost.
Where do the experiences take place?
When you hire a chef for a dinner, it’s up to you where the experience takes place. Provided that your venue lies within the chef’s city location, they’ll gladly come to your home or vacation rental and get to work spoiling your guests. Even if you’re hiring another venue in the city for a larger gathering, that’s also fine.
All that’s needed when you hire a chef is a clean and functional kitchen for them to work in. If that’s in place, they’ll gladly take it over the evening. They’ll bring with them everything they need to cook your chosen menu, including ingredients plus any specialized equipment that you may not have in place already.
