Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray two doughnut pans with non-stick cooking spray. Measure and prep all ingredients.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, oil, granulated sugar and brown sugar, making sure to work out any clumps of brown sugar. Use a hand-held electric mixer to whip the mixture until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs, one at a time.
Beat in the milk and the vanilla extract until combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, nutmeg and salt.
Add the flour mixture into the butter mixture and stir until just combined.
Fill the prepared doughnut pans with the batter until ¾ full. Bake for 12-15 minutes, rotating the pans halfway, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Let the doughnuts cool in the pan for 5-10 minutes before removing them onto a wire rack to fully cool.
Serve with a cup of milk, tea or coffee. Enjoy!
