Ingredients
Directions 8 steps | 210 Minutes
Preheat the oven to 300°F. Prepare the rub. In a small bowl, place the brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Prepare the brisket. Apply the rub generously on each side of the brisket.
Apply the barbecue sauce to the top of the brisket.
Roast the brisket on a sheet pan in the oven for 3-4 hours, until cooked through and tender. Let the brisket rest for 10 minutes.
Reserve the sauce on the bottom of the pan. Chop the brisket into small pieces. Add more barbecue sauce to the chopped brisket, if desired.
Assemble the tacos. Heat the tortillas on the stove for 1 minute on each side.
Lay the tortilla on a flat surface and add the brisket, onion, cilantro, jalapeño and cheese. (See notes 2.)
Pour the reserved sauce from the pan before on top of the taco and enjoy!
Notes:
- Corn tortillas can also be used for a gluten-free experience.
- You can change the taste of these tacos by just adding different toppings. An example would be diced tomatoes, avocadoes and lettuce.
