Prep Work Details

Gather all necessary ingredients and equipment needed for the class 15 minutes prior to class. Sanitize all work areas and wash hands. We will cover basic knife skills/cutting the cucumber and avocado during class. We will also make the rice in class together and learn how to cool and season it properly. Please do not start the rice prior to class. If you'd like to rinse the rice prior to class, please feel free to do so. Please use sushi rice specifically, as any other rice will not work with this recipe. Please make sure you are using only sushi-grade fish and that you have a sushi rolling mat and plastic wrap, as this is necessary for rolling the sushi. Please cook the tempura shrimp prior to class by following the cooking instructions on the packaging. The edamame can be microwaved, and we will discuss this in class.
