What You’ll Do

When it's cold and wet outside, warm up inside during this hands-on cooking class.

'Tis the season for stewing and braising! Beginning with a brief lecture and tasting, Chef Gene will instruct on the process of preparing a versatile homemade stock and the difference between homemade stocks and pre-prepared bases.

Chef Gene will show you how to utilize these stocks to cook hearty seasonal dishes that are sure to warm your insides during a winter in the Pacific Northwest. The main dishes include a sweet and savory apple cider and roasted pork stew, and an earthy, yet elegant smoked chicken and butternut squash stew.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Gene was accommodating and went out of his way to make the team building experience fun and enjoyable. Everyone enjoyed making pasta and learning new skills in the kitchen. The food was GREAT!
