Cooking Class - Brunch in New Orleans with Chef John

What You’ll Do

Take a trip to the Big Easy with Chef John and learn to make a classic New Orleans brunch

The South is known for breakfast, but New Orleans in particular is famous for a few classic staples of Southern brunch. Learn Chef John's techniques to recreating a New Orleans brunch so delicious, you’ll think you’re right by Bourbon Street.

First on the menu, Chef John will teach you the secret to making flawless, creamy shrimp and grits. Then, learn how to master the art of a perfectly crispy pork belly paired with poached eggs. A side of braised greens pulls the whole meal together, and of course, no New Orleans brunch is complete without sweet, fluffy beignets.

Meet your chef

As a youngster, Chef John would skip school to make tomato soup and grilled cheese from scratch at home. Decades later, his passion for fresh food is just as strong as it ever was. He headed to college where he befriended and learned from chefs from the Caribbean, Southwest, Mexico and the South. Today, he travels to the Southwest and the South to discover new and exciting cooking techniques.
