Cooking Class - Lunch at the Bistro with Chef John

What You’ll Do

Give yourself a well deserved mid-week break and join Chef John Pitblado in making a classic bistro lunch.

The word “bistro” is French in origin, so it’s only fitting that this class have a French twist. Learn the art of preparing some of your favorite bistro dishes with a light and delicious menu that is perfect for lunchtime.

Chef John will teach you how to make crispy haystack fries and savory French cheese puffs called gougГЁres. This soup and salad lunch will center around the quintessential bistro classic, a nicoise salad with poached salmon that you will pair with a saffron and tomato chicken soup. Then, finish lunch off with airy profiteroles and ice cream made from scratch.

Meet your chef

As a youngster, Chef John would skip school to make tomato soup and grilled cheese from scratch at home. Decades later, his passion for fresh food is just as strong as it ever was. He headed to college where he befriended and learned from chefs from the Caribbean, Southwest, Mexico and the South. Today, he travels to the Southwest and the South to discover new and exciting cooking techniques.
