This informative cooking class focuses on the selection, cooking and care of this time-honored cookware. From skillets to Dutch ovens, learn how to properly clean and season cast iron while making the most of each pot and pan. Braise tender chicken, craft perfectly crisp potatoes and prepare a decadent dessert with cast iron cookware.

Tea, coffee and water will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring non-alcoholic beverages.

This class is suitable for ages 14+ with an adult present. Children under 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. Class price is per person.

Meet your chef


Chef Peter's culinary journey may have begun in Northern California, but it's taken him around the U.S., with stops in D.C. and Nantucket. He honed his talent in well-regarded eateries, eventually rising to the level of executive chef. His restaurant experience includes a stint at the Watergate Hotel. Now happily settled in Seattle, Chef Peter is often found sharing his skills in cooking classes and with local and national nonprofits.

I enjoyed the class. The desserts were tasty. I had thought we were making all three recipes, but the chef ended up making one of them which was time-consuming. It might have been nicer to include one that wasn't as time-consuming so we could have three hands-on bakes. I have not received the recipes as yet, but since they were affected by the global IT outage, I'm not worried about that yet.
