What You’ll Do

Create an upscale Chinese fusion feast with the help of Chef John.

With Chef John's unique menu of Chinese-inspired delights, you will learn to make high-quality Asian fusion dishes. In this hands-on cooking class, the chef will also teach you techniques, such as knife cuts, sauce making and wonton folding.

Begin class by preparing pork-filled dumplings paired with handmade teriyaki and jicama slaw. Then, bread and fry duck wings and glaze them in a delectable sweet and spicy sauce. For the main, cook a classic plate of Mongolian beef with vegetable fried rice on the side. For dessert, prepare a dark chocolate coconut mousse with sesame whipped cream.

Guests are welcome to provide wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef John showed how to properly cut a red onion and talked about the versatility of onions. He used it to make a homemade onion vinaigrette dressing that could be used in a number of different ways from a dressing to a marinade for chicken. He is a very knowledgeable chef where you will definitely walk away with more knowledge than you came in with.
