Cooking Class - Sushi Spotlight: Ahi Tuna

What You’ll Do

Join Chef Matthew and discover the secrets to handcrafting your own tuna rolls at home.

In this hands-on class with Chef Matthew, you will learn everything you need to know — from where to buy sushi-grade fish to proper rolling techniques — to prepare two authentic sushi rolls featuring ahi tuna, and more!

You will begin the class by building a light and refreshing Japanese cucumber salad. Then, you will learn how to prepare both a traditional tekkamaki tuna roll and a fusion-style spicy tuna roll before ending on a sweet note with a pillowy-soft, light-as-air Japanese cotton cheesecake for dessert.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Fun, easygoing class. We learned a lot and feel a lot more confident about making sushi at home. Chef Matthew was friendly, full of info, and provided us the recipes to the other things we made.

Chef Matthew is delightful and quite knowledgeable when it comes to making sushi. He is very clear with his instruction, making it easy to understand the process. The sushi itself was fresh and delicious. The cloud cake was heavenly. I definitely recommend Chef Matthew if you enjoy sushi.
