What You’ll Do

Chef Mike's three-course menu is sure to give you a big warm Southern welcome.

In this hands-on class with Chef Mike, you'll learn how to prepare a three-course menu that will make you feel right at home.

You'll begin by learning how to make breaded okra with a crunchy exterior that's to die for. For your entree, you'll learn how to layer flavors and textures to build a plate of succulent shrimp and creamy grits with onions, green peppers, and a rich, smooth gravy. Chef Mike will end by teaching you his childhood favorite: bread pudding drizzled with a delicate rum sauce.

Guests are welcome to bring wine and beer to enjoy during the class.

Chef Mike began his culinary career in 1985 learning the fundamentals of cooking and recipe development from a respected chef in a 4-star restaurant kitchen. After over 30 years of hard work and honing his culinary skills and style, Chef Mike became the owner and operator of a specialty deli serving up some of best Southern-style scratch cooking and a specialty desserts described as, "heaven on a plate."

I asked Chef Mike to my house when I had a group of girls visiting me from the North and needed to show them some Southern Hospitality. Chef Mike and his lovely assistant were so warm and fun! We had fabulous fried pickles, Shrimp & Grits, a to-die-for Bread Pudding and A LOT of laughs. Chef Mike is very talented in the kitchen and extremely organized. We helped and we learned some new techniques. Be sure to ask him about his growing up in Savannah! I would do this again for sure.

Thank you Chef Mike and your wife Mrs. Sheree, so much for coming into my home and providing me with such an amazing experience. Anyone who knows me you knows I love to eat, and chicken and waffles are one of my favorite things to eat. Not only are you kind and funny but you are a culinary wizard! Thank you for taking the time to teach me some simple techniques that will help me along the way. From the vegetable soup to the chicken and waffles, every course was tasty and well prepared. Thank you for being patient with me and teaching me some new cooking techniques paired with great food. This will definitely be a birthday experience to remember.

This was my first time using Cozymeal, and I have to say that it was a wonderful experience. I surprised my wife for her birthday and Chef Mike and his wife Sheree made the day extra special. Not only did they accommodate my requests, they also made a special (incredibly delicious) cake just for you. It was amazing spending time with them and learning their amazing brunch menu. This was the best first experience on Cozymeal. Not only will we be using the service again, we're going with Chef Mike as well.
