As Chef Krong teaches live via video, your group will learn how to prepare sushi rice, layer fresh ingredients like avocado, carrot and crabstick (or tofu) and roll picture-perfect California rolls. The session balances teamwork, creativity and laughter as everyone crafts and shares their handmade sushi side by side. Sushi Making Kit
This sushi-making kit includes everything needed to roll authentic sushi yourself, with enough ingredients for 2 servings (about 4 rolls). It comes with uncooked Japanese short-grain rice, dry seaweed (dashi kombu) and a sushi vinegar mixture. You’ll also find nori sheets, roasted black or white sesame seeds, Japanese or Kraft mayo, Sriracha sauce, soy sauce and wasabi powder. To help you prepare and serve your sushi, the kit includes a bamboo sushi mat, two dipping sauce bowls and two pairs of chopsticks.

Prep Work Details

1. Rinse rice twice or until water turns clear. Add 2 cups of water and soak the rice for 30 minutes. 2. Cut the dry seaweed into 2-inch-wide pieces (about 4 pieces) and add them to the soaking water with the rice. 3. After 30 minutes, cook the rice in a rice cooker. Once cooked, discard the seaweed and gently stir the rice. 4. Keep the rice warm until the class begins.

Chef Krong was amazing to learn from! She came ready to hit the ground running, we were into prep and cooking in the first few minutes! She was incredibly warm and fun, and so easy to connect with. It felt more like cooking with a really talented and patient friend. The recipes were simple and delicious, and we feel confident we could make them again on our own with the techniques we picked up. It was also great to learn more about Thai ingredients we have been curious about!

I hired Chef Krong for my fiancé as a Christmas gift and it was so much fun! She is very polite, funny, inclusive and makes you feel good about learning how to cook! Even if you have someone who doesn’t really cook, chef Krong walks you through the entire process with patience and makes you feel like you’re cooking with a friend. She cooked three courses including the Laab Gai, Moo Pad Prik Thai Dam, Gaeng Massaman Gai, and Thai Sticky Rice w/ Mango. EVERYTHING was delicious and fun to make! We appreciated how she answered questions along the way and offered alternatives/suggestions for future cooking. She gave us tips on where to buy future ingredients & introduced us to different sauces and seasonings. We are definitely planning to hire her again and invite friends/family to join. Thanks again Chef !
